Old bungi game.

Oni...

anyone remember this game? although it was far from complete, I still occaisonally play it because i have yet to see another game that has pefected hand to hand combat so well. poor Oni. seems that bungi has forgotten about it and bungi west... east... what was it? but anyways, I felt it was a good game.

OMG, another person who has played Oni!!! The controls made the playstation version fairly crap, but the pc version was awesome. I spent most of that game beating people up because it was more fun than just shooting them. It was a really short game though, but I wish there were more games like it.

I remember that too! Loved the hand to hand stuff, was so awesome. I lost my CDs though, and I totally forgot what the game was all about, it's been a long long time

You know what I remember about Oni? The voices. Those horrible, horrible voices. Especially Shinatama. That one still grates on my ears at the mention of her name.

I loved the PC version... I still play it once in a while. I did a lot more hand to hand than shooting, but that's probably because there was very little ammo in the game.

It is probably still the best shooter/fighting 3rd person game ever made. Most games similar to it have like two fighting moves at most.

I played some of this game and really enjoyed it (even if the controls were a tad awkward). The only line I can remember is something like (I don't remember it very well, to be honest, execpt for the punchline)
"It [a computer] says it'll destroy two miles squared if we don't give into its demands!...it wants feet..."
Made me lol at the time.

hells yeah. lol. (Konoko by the way was here codename. her real name was Mai Hasegawa) I especially likes the "Mission Complete" picture that would show up after you complete a levet. it was the level when you'd jump into the acid at the end of the level, and the picture showed her naked (as the acid burned her clothes up.), but her arms cover up the titties.

I heard somewhere a couple of years ago that someone was makeing a mod for Oni that would include ragdolls, better graphics and the like.

and yes, the consol port sucked, but the PC was MUCH better.

I have the game here right next to me sitting on my desk. I never got very far in it. I had a hard time getting "into" it as I recall. Years ago I loaned it to my brother in law & he told me the game was great.

Anime-styled? Horrible Voice Acting? I shouldn't have to join the dots, but it sounds like if being faithful to their inspirational material was a goal, they hit the back of the net like a catapulted whale.

I heard about this when it was released. It was said that it was fair enough, but unpolished and not particularly remarkable. Bungie. Unremarkable Genre Fodder. Certainly no need to join the dots there.

I doubt it. Oni came out in the late ninties,and Bungi barly mentions it on their website.

Hell yeah, loved this game, even though it was pretty flawed in a few ways. The potential for a great sequel is huge, especially since Bungie are rolling in it now. And since they're (hopefully) giving Halo a break... *crosses fingers*
