Old cartoon, trying to remember

I have these vague recollections of an old cartoon. IIRC there were three heroes fighting the villain, and IIRC all four of them got their powers in the first episode from the same place. Magic gems may have been involved. Or maybe not. It's a very vague memory. I think the oldest hero had the power to dissapear into shadows and reappear in other ones. I think one of the heroes was a woman too. There may have been an episode where the villain tried to kill the heroes in their dreams. Not sure. If anything here rings a bell I'd appreciate guesses as to where these memories come from, though I know everything I've mentioned isn't very original or distinct. In fact, I wouldn't mind if someone would just link me to a list of cartoons from the 80s and 90s so I might find it myself.

I don't thinkl I've ever seen that cartoon. I believe the thing I'm recalling was set in a fantasy universe, not a semi futuristic one. Then again, this might not even be one show. It could be vague memories of various shows mixing together. Does anyone remember any show which involved a character who could magically disappear into shadows (not just one who would slink into a shadow and vanish like Batman, I mean one who did it magically).

There's probably a ton of characters like that, tbh. The only one that's popping out in my head right now though is Ebon from Static Shock.
