Yes its true...Old games such as Mario and Pong have been re-released...And they aren't really re-mixes either. They have the joystick with (maybe) 2 buttons and crap graphics.

This is in Ireland anyway and I think that it was Activisions name that was on it. What is going on!!! How will this sell and who would buy it when games have advanced so much?!

a lot of people are devoted to old stuff like that, one of my friends has about 40gb of strictly pre-snes era games.

Your reason for not understanding Why they would want to play the games are the very reason Why they would. - they don't make them like that anymore.

My brother has a retro arcade... 1980's video games.

I have to agree, there is something special about playing games that still have good gameplay.

Don't you have any old favorites? :p

If a game is really fun to play - the spectacular graphics are un-important.

On the other hand I'm sure you have played games with great graphics that were horrible games.

Regarding really old games:
If you think about it; Its a lot harder to make cool looking graphics whith the limited technology they had at the time. Your character, ship, whatever it was that you were controlling usually had only 1 color and the pixels were huge, so you couldn't even have graphics as good is this: :sniper:

I think playing games like Street Figther series, Arcade games like Asteriods and Asteriods Deluxe is a fun diversion for times when WoW servers are down for maintenance

I have two DVD's full of PC Abandonware games. I got every game I have ever heard of for the PC in the old times. Rather nice collection if I'm interested in playing and oldie. Nice to own them all (Almost All). I also have a collection of over 8000 NES Roms, 850 SNES Roms, 2000 Atari 2600 Roms, ETC!

ROMS
you have over 2000 ROMS? does that mean u have them hardware? like chips and circuits?

Hehe, i love the old games........commodore 64 was my fav for games.

Turrican series were amazing
I loved operation wolf
So many classic games........
Auf wiedersehen monty
Zoids
Parallax
Spy v Spy
Bolderdash
Driller
.........Thats just a few off the top of my head.

There is something so appealing to me about the old classics and thier music tracks as well..........bahhhhh, i wanna go back to the 80's!!!!

I don't really play any pre-snes games anymore. There are some Amiga games that I wanna revisit though like Superfrog.

Does anyone remember this Amiga game where you were some sort of hedgehog/dog. I think you were a browny colour. It was a side scrolling platformer and sort of a Sonic clone.

i have fond memories of old pc games...but with tech improving so much i cant play them :'(

But let us move forwards, not backwards! Upwards, not forwards! And always twirling, twirling towards freedom!!!

AHAHAHAH you are a funny guy. The ROMs he means are the ones emulators use to play games.

I grew up smack in the middle of the video game revolution ..I've seen every single system and I've played most ...I played Pong, space invaders etc wen they first came out ...but that's as far as it goes; I have fond memories but no desire to re-live them by playing retro-games ...I usually end up saying to myself "I used to like this crap?" (some of it is good but only good as a piece of nostalgia)
