OK I'm having some anoying issues here. I had the latest ATI drivers and I've never had issues with them until HL2. I was getting wieird multicolor blocks on peoples faces and certain textures. They would go away whenever the levle loaded up but would then return later. I've read about a few other people here having issues.

So I decided to try the Omega drivers instead. The omega drivers ran HL2 like a champ!! NO more issues! But...whenever I was surfing the web my monitor would turn off and tell my my monitor was out of scan range. Basically means I'm using a refresh rate my monitor doesn't support, which is not true.

So as you can see I'm stuck here. Use ATI drivers and get crappy performance with HL2 but better performance with everything else. Or use the Omega drivers that run HL2 perfectly and then have the comp crash when your trying to do other things.

Any suggestions?

What is an Omega driver? I use the Catalyst w/o any problems.

Omega drivers are a third party driver. The author develops them for both ATI and Nvidia. He does beta testing for ATI and he does an awesome job with his own drivers. They are basically tweaked versions of the official drivers.

On another note I noticed that the 4.12 beta drivers are available. Maybe those will fix the problem? If not I might have to go back to 4.10 or 4.9. :frown:
