Damn these new good graphics. I guess Ill have to 'aquire' Sims 2 when it comes out just to mess around with building a house (The only fun part of the series)
 
I think I'd actually play The Sims 2 if it was modabble and had ragdoll physics and gordon freeman and zombies and guns and shit, but from the same perspective as the sim's games.

these pics are brilliant. I'm gonna have to get this game, baring in mind the money I spent on the first one and its addons (yes I'm the one who bought them :)

I doubt Valve or Maxis would mind.. It would likely result in both developers selling their games to the other fans, more sales. It certainly wouldn't hurt, unless they end up on those rediculous sims pay sites which would be lawsuits just waiting to happen, which might get rid of them all, which everyone would want. So a happy ending.

I want to see someone do a family guy version on it. :D
 
My God that lesbians picture is really quite pathetic. Jesus, why not save yourself 30 shiny pounds and download some porn. It's just trying to entice horny arses to buy their product that won't be any different from the first one.
I'm not going to look in anyone's specific direction, lest it cause an argument...

Oh and for that/those person(s) - there is a game coming out (I believe it's called "Singles") that is essentially Sims, but more dating/kissing/shagging/player-buffing-themselves-off oriented.

ok i was only kidding around mate. just offering an 'alternative' view on things.

i'm gonna wait and see if there is anything you can actually do in the sims 2 apart from buying more stuff for your house and becoming a worker drone. i played the first one but the novelty wore off, and the expansion packs seemed pretty much the same. was that the draw of the game for you guys or was it some sort of voyeuristic urge that you were feeding?

I'd build castles full of tortue equipment then entice Drew Carey along and lock him up with the fat balding guy in the string vest. I don't think I ever "played" the game properly

Same here. there came a point after many hours spent playing/downloading skins etc. when it suddenly occurred to me: "What am I doing!? This is just silly. And quite boring too."
 
yeah i remember that first kiss system...some guy off the dev team was talking about it and he made a massive freudian slip...he started talking about fisting for some reason, saying stuff like "if your first fist doesn't land right"...but of course he corrected himself...worrying slip though for a family orientated game.

i really do hope they improve the AI in this one. it would be perfect if they gave the sims franchise to Peter Molyneux..he'd turn it into something magical.

i guess the sims is the most realistic game out there then...it mimics real life perfectly. that's exactly what happens in real life, i'll just ask myself "what am i doing?!"..the sims works on more than one level i guess.
 
The original was kinda fun, Everyone I know went through of the stage of starting to play properly, then getting annoyed at silly sim's, then just messing around.
Using the cheats, some of the stuff that's possible is great.
E.g Drop the mailman into the pool without means to get out, he's swim away.
Making the sim's tired and setting alight the place was awesome, I love my play room above the road, ah yes the good old road made entirely out of carpet.

I remember those days, I put fireworks in a 2 square room, 1 square with a person on it and one square with the firework, launch in, it falls back down and sets the sim on fire.

that was awesome :D

I don't think there is anyone alive that has played the sims and never tried to kill one of them intentionally.

Be it through starvation, drowning, or burnination, the experiments were always entertaining. One time I managed to trap the maid in a room, but then she just teleported out after a couple days.

What was funny to me though was what happened to my main sim and his roomate (who I modelled after my friend because he didn't have a good computer and he also liked the game). Since we always tried to keep our sims in good relations with each other, they eventually turned homosexual. I tried bringing over the neighbor sim girls, but they still liked each other most.

Ah well, my friend and I thought this was pretty hilarious.
 
I think he's tryin' to say that he read it as "rubber dick"......
 
If I own the original copy of The Sims but have lost it somewhere, is it legal for me to warez it?
