The new Hitchiker's Guide by Eoin Colifer wasn't funny! Aren't you guys so surprised?!

Seriously though, this is exactly what I suspected, a total comedic flop.

NEW HITCHHICKER'S GUIDE?! WHAT? Who is responsible for this!?

Eoin Colifer, the writer of the adolescent fiction series 'Artemis Fowl.'

That's about all he's done of note. Which explains the failtastic HHTTG 6.

I liked Artemis Fowl and I'm unfamiliar with THHGTG(?).

The Hitchhicker's Guide to the Galaxy is a fantasticly funny comedy sci-fi series. I highly recommend it.

As for Artemis Fowl: I read the first book. It was good, but nothing particularly great. It was an entertaining read and amusing at time but I don't think it made me laugh out loud once, and that's not a quality I'd want to see in a Hitchhicker's Guide book, all of which have caused me terrible embarasment as the sole person in a room in a fit of laughter.

I liked the Artemis Fowl series when I was younger (actually I still kind of like it, even though I've outgrown it a bit). Although Eoin Colfer isn't a brilliant writer, I've always found his books very entertaining and readable. Sometimes I prefer books that I don't have to think too much about. I felt pretty apathetic towards the Hitchhiker's Guide series, but I was probably too young to appreciate it when I read it. Maybe I'll read them all again and then read Colfer's sequal afterwards to see how it compares.
