In all instances when I've gambled in the past I've had no hope of winning. I see the odds are stacked against me and I believe that the money I have just put down is gone forever, even before the end of the race, or whatever it is I'm betting on. Therefore there is no "thrill" in it for me; it’s just a hollow feeling of inevitability.

I played poker for the first time about a month ago, came out with more than double my money. That was in real life. I tried some poker simulators and it wasn't as much fun as in real life :/
