Hey, my firewall mysteriously started acting up today, and I wanted to try something better.

The one with the best review for a free firewall was Tallemu's OnlineArmor.

So I downloaded it from their homepage, ran a scan on the OnlineArmor setup exe it comes clean

uninstalled my old firewall

when I try to run the setup exe, it has an error, then my AVG antivirus detected a trojan in OnlineArmor.. trojan SHUr or something and recommended me move it to the vault (isolate and delete)

Think this is a false positive (a mistake by AVG) or is a firewall supposed to be a backdoor, or what? I can't find any info in my search engine.

I really wanted to use it if it's the best..

However, I have the 2nd best rated one here and I might just try that instead.

EDIT: I installed Comodo Free Firewall instead, with no problems, and it seems really good so far. top rated.

Where are you finding these rating? I've never seen a ranking of firewalls or anti virus etc.

I just opened google and typed something like, "best free firewall" and found a link on the first page to some firewall test results, etc.

I really like this comodo firewall pro. It's so much better than my old sunbelt personal.

for anyone interested, I would recommend comodo firewall pro and also AVG antivirus, would not recommend anything else at this point. Others will have different recommendations though.
