Only 99% It won't finish! Help!

Alright, I want to install Garry's mod 9.0, but it won't work until I have setup and run Counter-strike and Deathmatch. That's basic, but it leads to the real problem:

I let steam "update" deathmatch to make it playable, the updating works all the way up to 99% but will not finish. What's going on? why won't it finalize?

I need it to finish -- any ideas? Keep in mind I'm on dial-up speed.

Thanks, that link worked. I'll give it a shot. If I delete "ClientRegestry.blob" will I have to redownload anything?
