I just jumped in a full black hawk as engineer at the start of the game. We were taking down a neutral flag and nobody was around (meaning I didn't need to repair) so I started setting claymores on the ground for when the Chinese come in with vehicles (thinking ahead) but the dumbass pilot LANDS on the ground to capture the flag and just so happens to land about a foot away from one of my mines..

for some reason the mine went off and I was charged with teamkills for everybody in the chopper (5 people) before I can even explain what happened i'm kicked and banned.

(oh and 3 of my squad members were in the black hawk with me)

..bah

yeah... in general the people that play BF2 arent very smart. They run in front of you when your driving a car, they drive on your claymores, and AT mines and they punish you and say "stupid teamkiller fagit!11!". There really damn lucky that im not an admin, or i would ban there asses for even acting stupid.... No matter though, EA is coming out with a patch that will hopefully fix all this.

P.S. It pisses me off more than anything when a good heli pilot is flying the hawk around an enemy flag so the gunners can totally own the opposing force, the noobs in the gunner seats jump out to try and capture the flag! Especially when it's the enemies last freakin' flag and we could rack up an unbelievable score!

I really and truly can't understand why punishing is in the game. Sure it sort of makes sense, a wrong was committed against you and now it's your turn to get even, oh boy. However, let's set up an example:

I'm in a car, and someone jumps out in front of me to get a ride, i try and stop but fail to do so in time and TK them. Now, already I’ve been punished by the game for even committing the TK, and now the TKed has the option to punish me further. Now of course they will punish me, mainly because it's immediately after the situation occurred, there's no time given for me to even apologize or explain the situation to my thoroughly pissed teammate. Secondly, because it's so damn easy, page up. But most importantly, it’s because this is America. And for those of you who don't live in America, i will tell you something about it. In America it's never your fault. That's right; believe it or not it's the truth.

The punishing option in this game definitely makes it a more one on one rather than team on team game. Nobody really cares if your team wins or loses other than the commander, and the only reason people cap flags is for the 4 or 2 pts. When getting even means removing pts from another players score who is on your team, it's putting the focus on the individual. I believe the winning team should all get 10pts added to their scores.
In conclusion, shit happens, get over it, and don’t be gay.

*on a personal note to EA, you can keep the punishing so long as you make it more difficult to do so. My idea is when a TK happens against you, there should be a code that pops up, you write down the code, log off, exit the game, go to www.ea.com/tk type in your account and password, enter the name of the server (exactly) the time the TK occurred and the code, then press punish. If hurting your TEAMMATES really means that much to you, then by all means go and ahead and do the above steps.

You should go to www.totalbf2.com, and make a thread specificly about this, they can help you out, and organize matches where people don't do that.

The way teamkills are charged in BF2 can be screwed sometimes. I've been charged for teamkills I didn't even commit before.

I did the exact same thing last night ...but for some strange reason I didnt get punished for teamkilling ..I thought I'd be banned for sure but nothing happened

The teamkill system is getting fixed in the next patch. Meanwhile, don't punish your teamates and hope they do the sasme.

In many servers I've played recently the punishment had been turned off for some reason. It was horrible. A guy in my team had -150, and the commander has a similiar score, and in the other team there were a bunch of pople with less that -50. It was ranked though, so guess they got some form of punishment. (Not that these people care about score, but still...)

haha something awful is always good
he's quite bitter though

i loved it all except for the 500 sniper part, i can go whole games and not see another sniper. And trust me i look, they're the easiest target.

Randomly Bail Out of Aircraft and Vehicles With No Warning! - As a driver or pilot, it's your job to simply get from point A to point B, wherever those two places may exist in your amazing screwed up brain. You have no responsibility to inform anybody else when you're about to leave! I mean, you didn't ask them to enter your vehicle, unless of course you did, in which case you were just joking. Bailing out of a full transport helicopter without letting anybody know in advance is often a fun and exciting way to "spice up" any game. Try to aim your chopper in the direction of a mountain or an ocean before you jump out, just to ensure you don't accidentally hit something of importance, like a mother nursing her baby or a friendly elf.

No idea how many ****ing times that happened to me...

heh, bailing out of Aircraft without warning can be annoying. The only time I do it is if the Helicopter or Plane I'm in takes a couple of hits in short succession and the vehicle has hardly any health left. Then it's pretty obvious you should bail out. If someone does bail out I usually notice and jump into the pilot’s seat.

I try and land my aircraft as much as possible.
I bail when I know there's a zero chance of survival.

But I ALWAYS repeat "Bail out!" to anyone in the craft.

Kinda off topic but in single player if you say bail out at anytime everyone will. Its fun to get a bunch of bots in your blackhawk on clean sweep, fly over the middle of the water and say "Bail out!" and they all will be forced to swim back. Then for more fun switch to the MEC and go after them in a boat, plane or heli for a bunch of kills.

I've actually never had trouble with stereotypical BF2 anti-team-players. On occasions when I am run over, or step on someone's mine, I generally don't punish them (unless it was really obviously on purpose).
