wow this sounds pretty cool:

The game is a third-person action title that taps into some of the zeitgeisty ideas like open cities and free-running, but it has a few idiosyncrasies attached too: your character is a killer shape-shifter called Alex Mercer. He?s on the loose in contemporary New York City and he?s taking people?s identities from the DNA up. Prototype allows you to consume and then ?be? almost anyone you encounter. It?s a game of disguises, mutant violence, and sci-fi bio-weapons conspiracy.

who doesnt enjoy mutant violence?

Co-op seems like another obvious angle for a game like this to take. Where once developers moaned about how hard it was to create co-op games, now it?s often the first thing they?ll mention. What will Prototypes co-op do for gamers? ?The short answer is, ?Something they?ve never seen before,?? claims Bennison. ?Online co-op is a key feature in Prototype. You?ll be able to have two completely free-moving Prototype characters in this open-world environment simultaneously. One of our favorite events that happened recently in co-op testing was pretty cool: We had one Prototype piloting an Apache chopper over Time Square, while our second Prototype back-flipped off an 80-story building and landed right onto the Apache?s wing. Once there, he began ripping Hellfire missiles off the firing rack and hurling them at elite units in tanks below. It was insane! When we say we want to bring new experiences to bear, that?s exactly what our designers have in mind. The entire game story can be played in co-op mode with a friend online, and the opportunity for player-driven improvisation on how you approach the missions together is mind-blowing.

hmm sounds very interesting.

i dont see any trailer, both of those links are the same.

Should be sweet if they pull it all off right :)

Yeah theres alot of hype about this one already. Sounds pretty spectacular. I'm looking forward to it.

So the main character is basically an organic version of a T1000? I'm sold. Can't wait for this.

Oh good grief and chips. Another Chav as a game character.

Looks like Assassin's Creed with mutations.

...

Fine with me!

As long as one of the final transformations in the game is wings. Ossum.

I dont understand hoods in action orientened games ..why would you want to wear somethinng that constricts your field of vision?

platforms last I head: pc, 360 and ps3

It's like an action filled version of The Thing. God I SO can't wait for this, especially since it's being done by the team behind The Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction.

Looks like fun but I haven't seen any mention of it coming to PC. Can anyone confirm this?

All that matters in a fight is that you look cool.

So yeah, whats the point of wearing a hood?

That looks pretty awesome. I hope the guy isn't too powerful. Heh.

There's a bunch of soldiers firing at me. Who cares? CHARGE!

Yup this is one that I'm really looking forward to. The main character looks awesome. Gameplay looks over the top crazy.

Have they released any gameplay footage yet?
This definitely looks intriguing.
Looks like a mixture of The Matrix's and The Thing's elements.

I really hope that isn't going to be what Alex sounds like in the final product. I trust Radical enough not to though.

"Who's next?" and "YOU don't HAVE to." :|

The shapeshifting nature of the character means his skin is heavily armoured at all times :p

Well, I just watched an interview with one of the developers, and he says that the character isn't in fact human and that he is made out of this kind of shape shifting bio mass(The Thing ripoff anyone).

So what I'm getting at is that he wouldn't need to have armoured skin, the bullets could pass straight through him and he would just regenerate.

How do you kill him then?

Fire. If you want a Thing dead you burn it alive, so I wouldn't be surprised if soldiers used incendiary rounds for their guns or something.

That too. Never really thought about acid to the effect of fire destroying the cells.
