Opening ports at Uni??

Yo yo all.

Ok, i play WoW. Stop cursing and shouting at me, i cant hear you through the monitor . I moved to Uni last week Sunday, and since then, i havent been able to connect to WoW.

Now i CAN connect to Steam and play all Steam's games, which i thought was weird, so im guessing its a port issue?
I know which ones need to be open/forwarded, but seeing as i cant connect a Router in my room (the wall only accepts ethernet cables and not ADSL ones), would i have to call the tech team and ask them nicely to open the ports for me in my room? Or would i have to find a sneaky way around it?

Any ideas? Help me back onto the drug :farmer:

Don't think it's posssible mate. Best way would be to talk to the admins.

And a router wouldn't have solved your problem.

Yeah i was thinking that, guess ill find out how to contact them and then beg or something.

Is it possible to open ports for one room or does opening a port open that port for EVERYONE on the network?
