Opinions of my rig?

AMD Athlon XP1600
40gb 7200rpm hdd
1024mb pci 133 sd ram
Radeon 9200SE 128mb
Microstar Mobo.

I plan to upgrade to a new system from scratch but i cant get the cash till next year. Is this a reasonable syatem and will it run HL2?

it will run hl2, although you might have to bump the res down a bit, and you won't have dx9 effects, but it should run alright.

yes, but the card is only DX8.1, truth be told, from what we've seen so far, you won't notice the different between dx8.1 shaders and dx9 shaders, well like the water, there isnt a huge difference.

with things like HDR and motion blur (motion blur isnt in the engine yet, they're going to implement it later) those are DX9 only as far as i know, so you won't get those at all.
