Original Half Life conversion to source?

You can buy Half-Life Source off Steam.

that would be great.

they should do episodic releases of it so its out quicker.

IIRC they've had internal discussions regarding episodic releases, and came to the conclusion that it wasn't justifiable in their position.

I don't know about Black Mesa (Source) though. I think they're taking too much liberties with remaking HL1. Especially with claims that each zombie variation will have unique attacks, on the weak grounds that HL2/EP1 had their various Zombie classes.

any mod like this out there?

Have you been living with your head in the sand?! =/

Black Op, I think you take liberties with throw away comments the dev team make.

Regardless though, what is the problem with that?

I'm with Black op, to be honest. I mean, I'm sure it'll be fun to play, but I think the rail section looks like an airport, and by that I mean meh. Each to his own.

you know there a way to work this out you know, someone has to make a texture pack for HLS and then everyone will be happy, and i'm not talking about S-HD pack for HLS, i'm talking about, hl2 res textures in HLS, rather than what black mesa are doing, thought i do like where BM is going.

But it's a matter of taste than anything else

Honestly, I'd rather just play HL1 the way Valve made..but with the decent graphics from source. So I agree.

You know, have you ever seen Res Evil 1 for the gamecube? that was remade by capcom, it turned into something like what the BM team are doing

what makes you think if valve did it they would keep it the same? (please, i know they already did it with HLS...) i believe soul heartly they would changed it as much as they pleased and there wouldn't be damn thing you could do about it

No, wrong. The remake was created by the same team, rather than an outside company with no bearing on the original product. All I'm saying is I'm happy with Half-life and thats that, I think re-making it is a pointless idea but that I'm afraid is just me.

I never said it was being made by the same team, i was just saying if it was VALVe, they would do it like Res Evil 1 for gamecube, they would add alot in that wasn't in HL1, god i remember playing Res evil 1 for the gamecube, alot of the sites that people remembered where there but it was a whole new game (in the term it was the same concept but changed to make it better), it was better than porting the same thing anyway.

there has been lots of fan remakes before, this is no different, i wouldn't be surprised if valve remade hl1 it would be alot different to what bm team are doing, as the valve they would have lots more freedom

I think bms and all the other remake mods are in over their heads. If any of them offer a hint of familiarity in gameplay to the original my hats off to them but I dont expect much tbh. This has nothing to do with how they look (thats the easy part), its all in scripting etc, and as big as halflife is I just dont see a mod team being able to put all the pieces together but as I said if they pull it off my hats off to them.

Indeed, I'll download BM if only to see what they did and for Gmod but if I ever get the feeling to replay HL1, I'll take out HL1.

Yes, but it's not Valve changing it, it's a mod team, so whatever changes they make aren't revisions, they're contradicitons.

The HL1/Regular HL2 Zombies seemed too stupid to have the ability to grip objects. It wouldn't feel right should BM(S) Zombies gain this ability, especially as their preexisting claw swipe attacks (and random smashing of objects in their way) make any other form of melee attack redundant. BM(S) will hardly lose anything if such an idea was scrapped.

When they finish Black Mesa Source, would it be faster to then turn and to Op4 since they already have the textures and such done?
