Amid a flurry of CS clones, SWAT mods, WW2 mods... etc... I decided to come up with an original idea. :naughty: :naughty:
What I came up with was this:
The general idea of the mod would be an American Civil War era Coop/Singleplayer action/fps mod, where you are a young Union Calvary officer with orders to investigate a small disturbance in a small town in Northern Illinois called Miles City. As it turns out the disturbance is caused by a strange bear-like creature. You and your Regiment quickly dispach it. But within days reports flood in of more strange creature sightings around Miles City. Wolf-like creatures, human-ish creatures, gorilla-type brutes, and big scorpion-like things. (As it turns out, they are creatures from a diferent dimention.) Since your Regiment has some experience with the creatures, (after taking care of 10 cases or so around Miles City...) Lincoln decides to appoint your Regiment as the official "Strange-Creature Regiment" and from then on you and your regiment take care of all the sightings. Eventually they start to appear by the 100's, so you have your work cut out for you. And once the bothersome things become a serious problem both to the U.S. citizens, and to the Union Military, General Grant sends orders to discover their origin, and to "Do something about it."
There would be several singleplayer levels, ranging from hilly fields to forests to burned-out towns/cities to caves to lakeshores.
You would be able to give your regiment basic squad orders like "attack", "follow", "defend", etc...
There would be "vehicles", I.E. horses, wagons, etc... While on a horse or driving a wagon/stagecoach, you could drive with one hand while shooting or swinging a sword with the other. So you could gallop thru a mob of enemies, trampling some and beheading or shooting the others. :naughty:
there would be a large variety of weapons, such as: Colt Revolvers, Calvary Sabers, Winchester Rifles, flintlock rifles(with bayonettes), pitchforks, knives, shovels, etc... and "mounted"-weapons like Cannons, etc...
I'll post more info if anyone thinks its a good "idear"
