I was recently digging around my old magazines, when I came across this... If anyone remembers PC Accelerator, they were the best PC Gaming magazine to ever grace this earth.

I found this review and felt I should share it with you guys :) Keep in mind, PC Accelerator has now closed its doors, not to mention this review is nearly 9 years old, so no harm is done uploading these.. here you go :)

Nine years old?

2004 - 9 = 1995...

Somehow I doubt it...

And didn't the mods delete links to scans of an old review like this one just recently?

Fine 6 years :)

6...9....6...9... Why cant they just live together??!!

Also, I dont see the reason for not allowing these scans. PC Accelerator is out of business. They have had their doors closed for a long time. There would be absolutely no reason to not allow this.

look at the cover, it says december 1998 ;)

nice anyways

I always love reading reviews and stuff of older games that I love. Like reading reviews on Final Fantasy 7, Diablo, Starcraft. For some reaosn it just makes my heart skitter! :D

God I loved that magazine. I wish it were still around. It was like Maxim for PC gamers.

yeah, I loved the mag for its short time. had lots of babes in there. Julie Strain on one cover...yowzer.

I look back at the Voodoo 2 SLI! and laugh at how much difference a few years makes.

"No more than 20 hours worth" of playtime.

So I'd say HL2 matches it in length, if both estimations have come from harcore reviewers.

This guy liked Xen mostly, it seems...

Does it seem to anyone else like this old review is a bit spoiler-ridden?

wow I just read the score pro/cons and apparently - for that reviewer, it was only 20 hours long!

I don't see why he LOVED zen so much

I thought it was really pretty when i played it the first time though (with the uber graphics back then) but the jumping puzzles really got on my nerves... they should have named it Half-Life: Mario's trip to Zen

only 20 hours long? I don't remember how long i played but it seemed just the right length of game to me... the immersion and pacing were just awesome

Xen was cool the first time the screen fades and your looking out at the floating islands. However once the tricky jumping puzzles start.. ugh.

However xen was the part where you got to use the long jump module, which redeems it slightly.

Imagine that Half-Life 2 being discussed over 7 years! We will all be like laughing at the requirments and such.

This was actually the review that made me buy Half-Life in the first place, way back when. I'd never heard of it before, and they loved it, so I tried it out. Boy am I glad I did.

Man, PC Accelerator was the best gaming magazine ever!! The lima bean was fsuking hilarious!!

20 Hours??! Jesus, I wish it would've taken me that long, took me like 8.

On the front page it says that the paper includes 12 pages. Where are the other 9? :)

You're a bit late dude. I hadn't said anything in this thread for eight hours before this. And my concerns were legitimate. How 'bout you take your own "advice"?
