OS install problem plz halp (boot manager)

me and my uncle put a PC togther and I trying to install Windows7
I cant use the DVD drive cuz its broke so I used that usb app from Microsoft to install Win7.
It install but when it reboots I get a error saying that boot manager is missing.
I googled around it it said to format old partitions so I did that too and reinstalled Win7...same error.


I noticed when choosing a drive for install that one small partition said:"primary"
and the other 2 said "system" now that I deleted the small one cuz I justd wanted to install on large partition that says "system"
I know I suck at explaining here what it looks like kinda.


Drive xx 140gb 140gb free *blank*
Drive xb 500gb 500gb free primary
Drive xb partiton 1 8gb 8gb free *blank* (used to say system)


please help I promised my uncle I'd have it done til Friday.

Have you checked your BIOS to make sure its first boot option is the hard drive with Windows 7 installed on it?

ugh I finally fixed the funny thing I had to switch so the OS HDD boooted after the other HDD...weird.

Yeah, could also have disconnected all of the other HDD drives during installation.

I was just messing with this yesterday. I don't know about 7 yet, I'll have to take a look, but Windows XP puts hidden files (containing critical startup information) on a random drive when you install it.

Good, Cuz, I was gonna call the cops on ya if you didn't.

Remember this: After computer reboots, you must log into BIOS and switch from CD, DVD, USB, Etc, to HDD, otherwise installation will restart all over again.

my grammar isn't very good that's true but to be fair I was kinda pissed/stressed when I was typing....
