OS X is the best OS EVER!!!!!

yes.... as soon as i get cash.... i'm getting a G5 w/ OS X jaguar (or the newest)... i'll be a MAC user. i will keep my PC for games... but MAC will be for everything else. i know people are saying " u spamR, we doont kar!" but i suggest u look into one, this OS X is truly amazing

mac osx is good actually but all u can do is cruise the internet and edit movies. not very fun for me.

takes alot to run... i hate that MAC has put out some laptops, and slower computers with the latest OS, and they run so slow..

If you won't be slowed down in work/play by going with a MAC then go ahead...Good for you!
Looks great and functions very solid as well since they make just about everything for that platform. With out the very large software base and compatibility issues that MS has, Apple can make sure everything runs great.

I wouldn't beable to do all of what I do if I switched...just internet etc.
My winXP is a solid installation and allows me to everything that I want plus it's on customized hardware.

I read somewhere that the new OS X is actually build on some NT technology. Same thing windows 2000 pro is built on (windows 2000 and ME are very different). And in my experience 2000 Pro is the most stable system i've ever worked with if you make sure to get the first three service packs.

I used to hate macs, as i'm sure a lot of people did, but they sorda grow on you. They're so cute and friendly.

Windows 2003 is the way to go...far more stable and faster than XP. Due to all of the shit thats been taken out and pointless things disabled, plus its ment for a server, so it has to be fast and stable

btw...games/apps work on it fine

Why would you consider a mac? For personal use it's a complete waste of money. Is the fact that you can go on the internet using a mac instead of a PC worth the $800 +? Why spend that kind of money when you can do everything the same now, only using a slightly different GUI.

I used what you'd class as a "new generation" mac for the first time about a year ago. Previously only had experience with the grey box type macs.

The improvement is amazing, thats for sure. The OS is nice lookin' anyway.

But really, how can you take a computer that uses a one button mouse seriously? It's only gonna do the exact same things as your PC can already do, why have both?

yeh ipods are well good, i have a mate that absolutely bums macs, and always says they're better than windows, which i agree with him, if all u wanna do is use the internet and edit movies on. which u can do anyway on windows, and more! and his other excuse is that they dont crash and windows do. i admit i used to crash my computer all the time but since i upgraded to xp it dosnt crash at all.
