So I was looking at mine which seriously lacked funny stuff and others which weren't fully done. We need to set a certain day in which members input as much as they can onto that wiki. Like a HL2.net wiki day if you will. How about it?

Darkside has gotten mad at meh.

Which one? Isn't Wikipedia good enough?

How about we do it from Dec. 21-Dec. 23? Finals should be over by then and it goes from a Friday to a Sunday. If possible we should create a Steam group announcement too.

Make a Wiki-Page Creation tally next to your post count, and have a easy-to-access list of all the pages that user has made :D

I fully agree with this. A lot of members put in a lot of work into the Wiki, and it just isn't all it could be yet.

Agreed. However, people might just plain old not know what to write.

The official Wikipedia editors have decided that game modification information is non-kosher. At least the HL2.net wiki has a dedicated mod section.

I've got my little corner of that universe nice and settled though. :E

Aaah, awesome. Never noticed it before.

I started an Aperture Science article ages ago, but decided to put off finishing it until after I'd played EP2. I never got back to it. I'll finish it now.

I noticed a error on Alyx's HLwiki section, it could use a little bit work. :)

Alyx Vance is a prominent recurring character in the Half-Life 2 series. She is an African-American woman in her early to mid-twenties and is one of the central figures of the Human Resistance against the Combine Empire.

It's a small error, but it should say: "She is of mixed decent primarily of African-American and Malaysian heritage."

Bump! Made a TF2 community announcement as well. *The TF2 group that is.

So have I

Ontopic

I fully endorse this subject. OR JUST FIRGIGN UPDATE EVERYBADYS VIKI.

Edit

I noticed a error on Alyx's HLwiki section, it could use a little bit work. :)

Hmmm, Malaysian you say? Hmmm. Hmmm. Jintor, get in here now.

I cant post some stuff about content cut-out from HL2 screens of cut-out content are allowed?

I made it a Halflife2.net community announcement when I noticed that you did that.
Cool, thanks. I deleted the other event because we don't need it. If you want the original dialogue of the Lost Coast I have it stored in an attachment. It was originally found in the LC pre-load and I managed to get the text file. Included bullsquid among other things.

It would be nice if you can post it here.
Ah and about that all tools for TF2 they were in source 2007 binaries.gcf v0 :p

Magtig, the HLwiki is a bunch of stumps whenever I go and read there.

I've put up an antlion article. Next I'll do one on each individual caste.

I believe there's a date set or something for a wiki day. I'm probably not here though

Myrmidont Giganticus?

Where did you find that designation? I only know of the common Myrmidont. None of this Giganticus crap.

And we should probably move the King to a Behind the Scenes section.

Nice, the wiki has really improved since I last saw it.

Good job.

Apparently that's what the Prima guide calls it. The OB guide also, supposedly, says that when a guardian is killed, it releases pheromones that kill larvae. I don't own either guide so I can't verifiy either claims. Could someone please do it for me?

Ah, the OB guide.

The crappy one that claims that acidlions are mutated from eating toxic waste.

Why don't we just copypasta everything HL2-related from Wikipedia?

It's not a bad idea, but I believe it's considered bad juju to direct copypasta. Etiquette or something, I dunno.

Got lazy but I finally did out my wiki. Gonna add new content such as Left 4 Dead, etc. Make a news post or something and get more people on this. *Gah I need help on this. I wanna add info on Turtle Rock but I don't know how. I'm on the Steam chat. **Nvm, thanks Reginald. ***Ok how about I don't touch shit. The HL2 page is ok...thank God.

The new mod warning tag... I'm not quite sure what to think of it.

While I can certainly understand that a page created by someone interested in the mod is going to be biased, the way the warning is worded is mildly offensive in my opinion. The template page:

http://www.halflife2.net/wiki/index.php/Template:ModWarning
http://www.halflife2.net/wiki/index.php?title=Template:ModWarning&action=history

Sure most of the mod pages have advertising in mind. But how are the wiki writers "edit the article to present something more presentable" when no one else is bothering to put them up? I'm not sure I'm happy contributing to the wiki when a tag accuses me of being a propagandist and instructs people to ignore the page because one guy wrote it.

When I copy and pasta'ed the Dystopia info on the wiki, I was doing it just to fill an obvious gap. I would have appreciated it if Mr Smartguy actually took the time to make that page less lacking when he was putting up that warning sticker. Did he think it was better for NOBODY to put up at least some sort of placeholder for one of the major mods of the HL2 community?

Actually, on second thought, I'll just edit that template myself. It is a wiki after all. Anybody can log on and compare the historical revisions if they like. Hopefully the new template is more balanced now.

(Hopefully this isn't approaching the realm of wikiality-esque combat) ;)
