After realising yesterday that Gmail was POP3, i followed their tutorial on how to get it to work with Outlook 2003.

I was able to syncronise emails fine... until about 3 hours later, when suddenly i started getting this message when I click "Send/Receive":

"Task 'pop.gmail.com - Receiving' reported error (0x80040900) : 'The server name you entered can not be found on the network (it might be down temporarily). Please verify that you are online and that the server name is correct.'"

Has anybody had the same thing, or can somebody suggest a fix?

Thanks in advance

hmm sounds like a strange error, you could put the settings in again and see if it works then, also you could try using mozilla thunderbird, i have heard that recently there are a major vunerability issue with outlook.

Also you could make sure that the setting in the gmail settings for allowing pop access is still set, might have been a problem at gmail's end. Other than that, give it a few hours and see if it sorts itself out, could be that one of the gmail servers are down etc.
