Outlook sounds in Portal

I was listening to one of the songs from Portal which I got using GCFScape "portal_party_escort.mp3" and as I listened to it I heared the "new mail" sound from Outlook.
I don't use Outlook and thought it was strange so I tried to recreate it, and appearantly if you listen closely at 2:27 (minutes:seconds) into the song you can hear the sound. Thought it was worth mentioning

I wonder if it's meant to be there because I seriously doubt someone was running outlook while this was being recorded and that piece of sound just happened to find it's way into the song.

oh yea, its not the sound, it's too low pitched. I use a custom sound, but i do know the original.

Yeah, I noticed this too, and meant to post about it but forgot which track it was in. Seems very odd.
