I recently overclocked my P4 2.4b to 3.1ghz, and it's running pretty stable. Temps dont go over 50c under full load, and no crashing. But my question is, I have jerky graphics now in all my applications (not just games....I mean surfing through windows in general) if I do too much at once. example: having 6 IE open at once tends to make my performance rather crappy. This didn't happen before I overclocked my CPU.

Could this problem be cause by my ram? I'm using 2x512 (1gb) sticks of crucial ram, each stick being pc2700. (sdram) Is my slow ram bottlenecking my new CPU clock? The ram is in DC mode, btw.

My system specs:

-ASUS p4800 SE
-P4 2.4b (133mhz fsb) @ 3.1 (173mhzfsb)
-1gb pc2700 in DC mode - Crucial
-Radeon 9800 pro (stock speeds)
-SB Audigy 2 ZS

Could someone recommend me some good ram?

Here is a link to my MOBO if anyone needs some specs:

Try running prime 95 torture test for a few hours to see if your overclock is stable (playing games alone doesn't tell you this)

Make sure you keep an eye on your temps while doing this :)

Try running 3dmark 2003 a few times too.

If you're concerend about your ram then do a few passes of memtest.
