well i have a freshly formatted HD and stuff.. and wanted a P2P program..

so whats a good one without the adware crap?

im trying to keep the comp clean of adware and stuff..
i even need some ad blocker program.. bahh

You should really purchase software. A lot of stuff on Kazza is Virus's anyway. why what did u specifically need?

I dropped "P2P" as such quite a while back. The transfer rates and general inconvenience really used to irritate me.

I've started using news groups, sure it costs me money to subscribe, but I'm getting stuff I want generally quicker than it will hit any P2P networks and I get solid extremely fast rates.

well generally i do purchase stuff i like..
i was looking for an old, old mp3 of Matthew Good Band of the Ghetto Astronaughts cd..

u can't find the cd in stores anymore.. actually i don't think it was ever a cd...only cassette..
:|

i have a selective taste in music :)

Bittorrent is by far the sweetest of them all. Simple, Unintrusive...simply click on a torrent link, it brings up a download dialog, asks where you want it, boom you've got it. Especially good for tv shows. I have a trekkie friend that downloaded seasons 5, 6, and 7 of DS9 in about 24 hours (that's over 10GB of data, crazy). Really fast if what you want is in high demand. Otherwise, I would go IRC.

IRC and BT are what i use............if you have money go for the newsgroups.......... there also DC++....but its a bitch to find what you want.

stay away from anything related to kazaa

Newsgroups are really nice if you have a fast connection and can afford to pay a monthly (or three months) fee. You can get unlimited use and as up to 2.0Mbps speeds if the company you go through has fast and reliable servers.

Well I only download stuff when I cannot afford it.
DC++ all the way.

0-day ftp 4ever

BTW, all the programs you listed up there are n00b programs, and pretty shitty ones too.

Well I use Bit for games+ movies kassa for music and porn.

kazza is full of other nasty programs, just run ad-aware

i got rid of it a long time ago

Ah, will I get banned for this question?

Does anyone know where you can get good BitTorrent files? (except the obvious BitTorrentmovies.de)

God...I never use BT for massive files, i'm on a 600k connection and I get about 2k a sec down while uploading at 50k :|, and the file I was gettin had 1000 seeds :flame: whats wrong with you BT dammit!!!

God emule is the worst IMO...its so god damn slow;( , if they sorted out the transfer system it would be the best, cause emule has all the latest files even before IRC and BT

Guess you haven't used it for a long time then. No it isn't Kazaa (thank God), but if you download from eMule it's guaranteed that you get quality and the best part is that you can find anything, I mean anything on eMule. If you're looking for Nosferatu from 1921 or a videoclip from Art of Noise from the 80's or Matrix Reloaded or whatever you're looking for you can find it on the network, it's one of the best and has the most diversity then any network I've found..

Many starters quit because of the slow dl speeds, but you have to build credit before you can get good dl speeds. Anyway it's one of the best IMO and I've been using it for quite some time now and I can use my bandwidth to the fullest, so no slow dl speeds for me.

There are also many websites with links for eMule, more and better then the bittorrent sites. I don't think I can give links for those sites...

Anyway if you're interested.

Ill give e-mule another try then :D, i hope its faster this time.

The good and old Emule, i downloaded all the Half-Life 2 movies from there.

ps: all downloads with 56kbps :)

eMule is a good program for people that have server going 24/7. If you are an average computer user and use it for let's say 8 hours a day then eMule might not be your program.

eMule also needs a little tweaking and finding out what the best mod is and stuff. It isn't as simple as Kazaa so it might be a bit difficult for people that aren't used to playing around with programs, but in the end it'll be worth it. I've found old tv shows and old movies that I couldn't find anywhere else, It's my favorite p2p program for sure :)
