p4 2.4, 512 ram, how does css run on that ??

If you have a p4 2.4 and 512 ram, plz tell me how does css run on ur computer and which videocard are u using ???

I have a p4 2.4, 512 ram and 6800 256mb, my fps run as low as 16 sometime, somebody told me that my cpu is bottle necking my videocard, i'm thinking about overclocking my cpu. Do you guys think overclocking is necessary ?? or something in my setting is wrong which result in lower performance and fps drop ???

That's far too low for your system, something is wrong. Check AA and AF both in game and in your video card settings.

what's vst ?? I run a test called aquamark, i got about 29000, in the aquamark forum, people say that the score is too low for the computer that i have.


Yeah, i got the latest driver installed. I have also looked into the bio and set the agp aparture to 256, but it doesn't change anything.

VST (video stress test) is something that CS:S beta users can run to give an idea how HL2 will run on their computer. Apparently it is in the main menu.

You may also want to uninstall your graphics card drivers, then clean them with a driver cleaner, and install the latest version of your graphics card drivers.

check your fsb on the cpu. rawrr, chipset settings and such.

That is about right for your computer. Run the VST and see what you score.

The CS:S frame rates could be lower than what you are used for CS, and that somehow causes your mind to freak out. Or Valve has some stuff to work out with your Video card.
