Well, lets start of introducing myself...

My real name is Erik and I'm working on this mod for hl2 called "Packed - guns and ammunition".

The goal for this mod is to be a fast paced tactical shooter, if you would like to know more you can visit the packed website here:

At the moment I'm the only one working on this mod so i'm looking for a crew!

However, you are right, there is a flood of tac sims. Making one that is both unique and fun to play will be... hard... to say the least.

But I'm not satisfied with the current tac sims, and I think that packed might offer that little extra to spice things up... hopefully.

Give me a a few days and I'll post some extensive gameplay info, the reasons for not posting anything now is:

We are still working on the concept, before going into the gameplay part we would like to have the concept ready.
I can however reveal some concept/gameplay information:

Some sort of capture the flag mode will probably be present.

Teams might consist of different countries and different weapons for each country.

No money involved, class selection, each class already equiped. (Just a thought)

Tactical military/special weapons.

Problably round based gameplay.

Player hostage taking situations. (no team starts out with hostages, they will be taken during gameplay, enemies might be taken as hostages? capture the VIP?).

As real weapon damage effects as possible.

Ever tried to fire a 7.62 caliber weapon in auto mode standing up? You wont hit anything but air. (No crosshair when running with weapon?)

Action! fast paced!



There you have it, some gamplay... I don't think any of them were that original but they will be, I'll post something in a few days when we have a real list ready. These were just a few examples, not the real deal.

The unique/innovative parts won't be revealed until later on, since I'm not in a hurry getting a dev-team...
