I would really like to see a sequel to this excellent game.

With the first I think PCF where making a statement, that being "We can make a classic first person shooter and make it fun" which they most deffinatley did. However for a sequel I would like Painkiller 2 to take the best elements from the first game and its expansion and try putting in some morden elements. So-

Good things about painkiller-
Fun simplistic run and gun gameplay
Invoative weapons
Excellent physics and graphics
Blood and gore
Close combat
The arcade style way your scores are slapped across the screen at the end of a level
Horror feel to some levels

Annoying things-
Too simplistic
Repetative after a while
Level strucutre to jumpy with no seamless joins in it
No vehicles or other types of gameplay
Non-fun jumping puzzles
Story element seeming so foreign compared too gameplay

What would be cool in a sequel-
More diverse gameplay involving vehicles, shooting from vehicles, some kinds of turrets, sniping (with an actual rifle), grenades (different types of)
Much more seamless world
Story actualy put into gameplay somehow
Horror levels with more suspence and actual scaryness

Worst game i've ever played...

Nothing wrong with the style though...Serious Sam was great.

Painkiller was brilliance. :) I reckon it would just be the same, butr on a much grander scale. So I'd expect bigger levels, bigger gibs, larger amounts of enemies on screen, larger weapons, bigger bosses...just plain bigger, meaner, faster, and more violent than ever before. That is, if they make it. :P

Can't really say if I like Painkiller or not because playing it on my computer is like watching Matrix in slow-motion... All the time.

I’m going to test it out on my new computer though. :)

It brought me memories of oll doom 1.

I thought it was a mediocre game, but it will probobly get a sequel.

Certainly was better than Far Cry. Mindless. But it was executed well for the style.

Hopefully, if they make a sequel, it won't be so repetetive.

Rofl, I wonder if they'll let you duck if they make a second one... :rolling:

I might actually play the demo then...

I'd definitely buy a sequel if they made one. I don't know why, but I loved this game. I heard there's also an expansion pack out soon if not now, gonna check EB tomorrow after class probably.

I have both serious sams and painkiller i would have to say painkiller is 1000x better then serious sam. Painkiller was very fun 1st time around.

I wish they would let you duck.
Nonetheless, Painkiller is a great game. It brings back the ol' Doom & Quake days. Painkiller also ran extremely well on my computer, and still looked spectacular. I ran the demo on 1600x1200x32, set the character/world/texture detail to the highest, turned trilinear, AA, FSAA shadows, dynamic lights, decals and etc... to off and the game ran great. I even managed to use Texture detail. I did have some lag 'hicups' but they were rare and short. When the game lost framerates, it had this awesome matrix effect.
I hope more games will turn out to be like this graphic-wise and maybe even use the Pain engine.

It needs a co-op mode.

And it needs a D-day style beach landing map with tons of zombie Nazis.

It also needs a map where your flying through some canyon with winged demons attacking you.

That would be awesome.
