Painkiller site update/demo+game release date

As shooters go it will probably be entertaining, but the design looks 'lazy' both in the creatures and the environments (lot's of repetition of skins). I'm not seeing anything new being brought to the card table with this. Serious sam on steriods ;)

"The game featyres 24 single-player levels, each enirely unique with virtually no texture reuse between levels. The average level is 350,000 polygons, monsters are 3000-4000 polygons while boss monsters are 8000+ polygons. The textures are also very hi-res: average is 1024X1024, bosses are 2X2048X2048! Enemies also have advanced bump-mapping and lightning models including specular lighting"

There isnt really any revolutionary concepts in the game, but I think it will be cool to kind of revisit Quake with next gen graphics.

The levels look amazing, the physics look amazing and the gameplay looks amazing even if it's brainless. It's 5 notches above SS on a logarithmic scale and therefor it will be the first (or second depending on when farcry is released) next gen game to hit the shelves even if it brings nothing new in terms of concepts to the table.
