^Nice pic of my sexeh drop forward.

Wow. Nice guns. I want to play paintball. I just don't know where to start. I don't know if I should buy a gun. If I buy a gun, what gun is the best? What does the Halo B and the drop foward do?

The answer to the best gun: None. But dont just go off buying a top of the line. Start off with a tippmann or a spyder.

The halo B is the hopper. It holds and feeds the paintballs. That hopper is electric and extremely fast, overkill on a stock autococker. I bought it now though to save money in the end when I buy my e-blade.

The drop forward brings the nitro/c02 tank forward. When playing speedball you want to be as small as possible, flexible, plus it makes it more comfortable. If the drop forward wasnt there, the tank would be mounted right under the grip frame.

I just realized that your on the digital paintball team, right?

I remember seeing those pics in the show off your gun thread or whatever on the DPB forums.

I played laserdome once... its like paintball but it doesnt hurt when you get hit :)

It's no fun if it doesn't hurt. Plus, if there's no pain it doesn't matter so much if you're hit. I got mugged pretty badly once (about 5 shots in the same place on my hip, at almost point blank range. I thought my leg was gonna fall off :p ), and now I make damn sure it's not gonna happen again. I play front a lot better now, I'm not sloppy like I used to be.

That's a sweet cocker, Sgt.Igneri. Very nice

I played laserstrike with some mates awhile back, we basically hired the suits/guns for an hour or two and drove out to this really remote forest. It was cool cause it was fenced off in parts so we knew where our boundaries were, but it had a bunch of hilly areas for sharpshooters, the trees were just big enough to hide behind, and there were afew ditches to lay in wait. And the guns had laser-sighted scopes ^_^ We even played Capture the Flag at one point. It was hella fun, but yeah, it would've been alot more fun had it been paintball :p

Myself I'd rather get into airsoft. Paintball is nice to play with but I wouldn't go spending too much on something that didn't look authentic.

I've only played paintball a few times. I got shot twice right next to the nuts after I had surrendured. They would've hit me right in the nuts if I hadn't pivoted as he shot me. I was pretty pissed off.. I shot him twice too...

Another time I was pinned down behind a little barracade and I peeked out for a split second...took one right above the mask. Kinda right where your forehead meets the rest of the scalp. It didn't hurt.. just felt like a flick to my forehead.... but paint splattered back into my spiked hair...it actually looked pretty cool.

Paintball is so cruel ^^;

I remember when I got my first BB gun, was going for a Beretta but I saw a Glock 17 in the shop, and this was back when I was right into Half Life :D Got a mate around, put on 3 layers of really thick clothing, gave him the gun and told him to stand 10 feet away and shoot. **** it still hurt like hell though, stupid hop-up :D

playing paintball with assholes that shoot you after surrendering really sucks...

i just have a tippman 98 slightly modded (longer barrel, etc)...i've played with other guns but i didn't notice *that* much of a difference...especially since i don't play often enough to justify buying a cocker...or anything much better for that matter :p

it's fun though...

ray_MAN: renting can be very expensive...especially since you have to buy paint as well... i suggest you decide relatively quickly whether or not you want to play a lot more and buy a gun without renting a lot first...my gun has already paid for itself many times over.

*wishes he could take pictures of his airsoft guns and post em here* Well thats what I get for not having a digi cam.

I took some pictures of my 2 friends playing paintball last night at their park. They both have spyders. I'll get the pics up soon, I just have to recharge my camera do get the pics off it.

(the pics aren't gonna be to great because they're at night, and most of the time my friends were hiding from eachother on the equipment)

I'm downloading now... what server you guys play on?

The dev team is VERY rarely seen on any of the servers, but SOMETIMES i hang out on dpbf's server or on the PPS server (i have RCON there, palmers is da' shit).

DPB is annoying, the hit detection is fudged up. Even if they say their hitboxes are so uber perfect and cool...you could go to bunker somone, hit them 4 times dead center chest and nothing would happen. That only happened twice to make me realize some sort of paintball mod that doesnt take you out when you get hit shouldnt be played.

It's still fun tho...that gives it a little more edge to it.

Ridic, we had some bugs in the first versions of the game with hit-detection, all have been fixed now. If you shoot someone, and the ball hits them, then they are out, end of story. However, since paintballs actually take time to travel, the server "ball" and the players "ball" are not ALWAYS being shown as hitting the same place due to lag. If you or your opponent are very laggy, it may look like you hit him, when in reality the server records the paintball as being far behind him.
