HOLLYWOOD (Box Office Mojo) – Perhaps Ash Wednesday should be renamed Fat Wednesday.

Fueled by an unprecedented media frenzy and religious fervor, Mel Gibson's The Passion of the Christ has delivered on the hype.

Playing on 4,643 screens at 3,006 theaters, the $30 million production took in a whopping $26,556,573 on Wednesday – ironically prompting most in the industry to use the Lord's name in vain out of sheer amazement.

So basically the movie has made it's money back in a day. Sheesh! :|

Heh. That is amazing. I want to go see that with my class.

I just read that 53-year old woman died in the theater the other day when watching Jebus getting nailed onto the cross...

well its definately not for the faint of heart. But i've seen more gore in movies before so i dont know why theres such a huge hypge about the blood. Saving Private Ryan was far worse imo.

Yeah... happened in Topeka, KS.

For a second, I thought this was going to be an eBay auction link for the nails they used in the movie, and that they were going for $26 million, lol

Oh wait, now I do. heh heh, nails. :imu:

lol.

I just checked VCD quality and this film has actually been warez0rized... twice! not really shocked, but I thought considering the content the warez groups would have left this one alone. dunno why I thought that tho, I mean it is a holywood production when all said & done.
