The devil is a woman in that movie.
Also, the movie's pretty creepy at times hey, like after Judas is cursed by Jesus and he's hiding under the bridge....creepy stuff

the devil is a women? dont think so i saw man all the way, seen above in the picture

The devil is indeed a woman in that movie.

Decent flick, but it's purpose is nothing more than to show how brutal Jesus' murder was. Personally I'd have prefered it if Mel had included more of how Jesus actually lived and the reasons why the Jews were all afraid of him.

the movie was called the "Passion" - which refers to the last hours of Jesus' life, which is going to be small in scope.

I wish the movie would have been done by Mel Brooks instead of Mel Gibson :P

amen brother.

I don't know, a lot of my christian friends said it was amazing, but in my own personal opinion showing the twin towers being attacked to get support for an anti-terror war is the same kind of thing that the passion is.

I haven't seen it nor have any desire to see it. But I'll probably rent it one of these days just because I try to force myself to keep an open mind about things that I'm pretty sure I won't like.

I don't think The Passion is a film you can really "like."
It was a good movie, but not something I'd want to watch more than once. That'd be a little depressing

The Passion of the Christ is more of an experience then an actual film
You don't watch the movie to enjoy it. You watch it to experience what Jesus went through, and to understand why he had to (If you believe in that stuff)

Best scene was the flashback to Jesus drawing the line in the sand, the stoning of Mary Magdalene.

"He who is without sin cast the first stone"

It should have used more of those flashbacks scenes to try and get the "stop ****ing humanity up" message out... Otherwise it's a pretty powerful film.

Exactly

I would like to see someone make a movie based on the book "The Da Vinci Code"

It would be REALLY interesting to see how the Christian community responds to it

i would have liked that as well... but like Sparta mentioned.. the movie was done to give an idea of what Jesus experienced in his last few days of life.. which is a good thing as well on some level i suppose.

I saw it a couple of days it was released. Nearly cried ;( First movie that acutally made me think.

It was a pretty cool movie, I'm not into that christian stuff (anymore) but I really enjoyed watching it, professional and very well made..

By the way, Satan is played by a woman but he's supposed to be genderless in the movie.

Have you read the Da Vinvi Code. Its pretty sad. I mean he cant even get general hisrotic acounts accurate let alone anything from Christian history.

I saw it, it was crazy good, well in a powerful "that was messed up kinda way.

I am protestant but I couldn't help but remember all of the Catholic symbolism in that movie. ITS LOADED with catholic symbolism. I guess because Mel being catholic and all.

1) Every one calls Marry, mother.
2) Seven droppings of the cross
3) Ingesting of the blood will change you.

Hey Yakuza, hehe ya I thought that was funny too

I hope people dont get the impression that Mel is protraying a catholic interpretation because his form of catholicsim is more like a cult than a full blown religion. Yakuza maybe you can fill us in on some of the more catholic interpretations found in the movie. Among other things Mel's sect deny the holocaust ever happened and that Vatican 2 was a power struggle between a catholic sect and jewish rabbis. ..yes it sounds insane but Mel's dad went on record saying:

"I dont believe the jews died in the holocaust" ...when asked what happened to them he replied "maybe they moved to brooklyn"

I actually enjoyed the movie. Had some friends over, ate crisps, said "yuck" at the disgusting scenes. The usual :)

Actually...your kinda right.Only part of the bible I have read is gensis and revelations...but I am currently re-reading it.

bleh, it was decent but not great in any way. Jesus falls down far too often as well, at least 50 times :O

I havent seen it..just some of the torture scenes. I hate that christians\religous people want to stop violent movies and games and yet they take their 9 year old kids to watch this movie. Double moral at its worst.

I think the movie was very moving, and quite respectful to the source material, which I would call the bible rather than the truth. The film certainly made me a believer for a short amount of time, which is rather ironic I think. Mel Gibson did a fantastic job.

eek you put me on the spot. I would have to do some digging since I havent done much since when it first came out. As in studing the issues that mel portrays in the film.

However, the entire movie is biblicaly sound with a few interesting "Additions". In the bible satan isn't said to be next to Jesus in the garden but considering what Jesus was going through its very possible that Satan was right there testing him. You know its interesting, Satan is trying to decieve Jesus exactly the same way he decieved Adam and Eve.

He didn't offer lies that would appear so radicaly different to what they knew, Rather offering them a distortion of their interpratation in what God had told them. "Did God realy say this? or did he mean that?"

Are you assuming that people take their nine year old kids to the movied or do you actualy know someone who has.

I am Christian and I think the movie is completely inapropriate for the minds of young viewers.

I guess you could call it violent but the message in wich its being delivered is different. Its like Shindlers List. That movie is Violent but again the message at wich we are recieing it is different.
