Pastor facing burglary charges says she's no thief

A Texas pastor caught by police with a laptop and fur coats says she was protecting the valuables, not stealing them from the home of a parishioners.

Sandy McGriff, cofounder of the Church of the Living God, told The Dallas Morning News on Monday that she used poor judgment when she entered a church member's home through a broken window and removed valuable property.

McGriff faces charges of burglary of habitation and resisting arrest. She posted a $26,000 bond Saturday and was released from the Dallas County Jail.

McGriff says she saw two men on the side of the home and decided to check it out. That's when she says she found the broken window.

They're not different from anybody else who claims to be a certain way. Politicians, pastors, mechanics, doctors, lawyers, whatever, it's all the same shit, everyone's ****ed up. A religious leader being corrupt doesn't signify the truth or untruth of religious texts. The text of the bible itself is full of religious leaders who are bogus. It's a profession, you yourself could probably become a pastor if you jumped through the necessary hoops. But I guess it means there's no value to be found in religion whatsoever.

This is news worthy because: 1) It's a woman pastor (WTF) 2) A pastor, just like a doctor or a priest, is someone usually considered to be trustworthy and yet something like this happens.
It would've still been interesting if for example, it was a doctor stealing from a patient.

Okay, here's an interesting spin on the story that no one seems to have picked up on: the pastor claims to have seen burglars breaking into the house, and responded by entering through an "already broken" window and taking their belongings to "protect" them. Call me nuts, but that's pretty amusing whether they're a pastor or not. All that does is add another layer to it.

I too, am not sure why this is so news worthy. I guess it'd be news worthy if it was Obama or something, but, I dunno.
