Alright so, for years I thought that, for example, if you apply patch 1.2, then you don't need to apply patch 1.1.

But then I found out with two of my games, that this isn't the case.

Is there an especially good place for getting game patches, one where they tell you whether you need to install previous patches first? (Release notes)

It usually says if it's a "full" or "incremental" patch.

You can also get a hint from the file sizes of the patches.

Yeah, like if 1.1 is 38 MB and patch 1.2 is 2MB, then it's obvious you need both. Yeah, good suggestion. I actually remember doing that before. Totally forgot, thanks.

Company of Heroes?
No, just a coincidence, I guess. The game is...
Dues EX - Invisible War
I just made up those file sizes for the example, if that's what you're even talking about.

I generally use www.patches-scrolls.de

They have a shitton of patches, for very old games too, like early 90s DOS games etc even.

Reminds me of Battlefield 2. They failed so hard at making patches.

Yeah, 2142 was so bad with patches, that was part of the reason of why I stopped playing.
