ive been watching the spike video game awards for 2004.... so far in the first 30 minutes they have spent about 2 minutes actually talking about games... gay games. They first category was one instantaniously... because it only had one nominee.... and it is hosted by snoop dog? what the hell is that!

I'd qualify that with an exception about TechTV. They've had some pretty good stuff over the years covering games and the technology behind them. Now you just have to watch out for the G4 stuff.

I thought it was extraordinarily weird for them to have Modest Mouse there.
They're about 3/4s too weird for anything as mainstream as what that show was trying to be.

It's all a popuarity contest. Ninja Gaiden was the best Xbox game of 04, and i don't think it was nominated for anything. Same with KOTOR2

Halo 2 won best FPS game, which doesn't surprise me.

It was weird, because all of the other FPS games they showed so much action in their little 10 second preview, while HL2 was all just mainly scenery shots..
