I'm sceptical, but I pretty much have to see it thanks to their involvement. I've heard it's funny, at least.
 
That, was not what I was expecting... looks like a laugh I guess.
 
I kinda kept imagining Roger's (from American Dad, i.e. Seth MacFarlane) voice whenever they showed the alien.
 
I'm torn on this. I love Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, I thought Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz were both remarkably funny. They'd actually be the only people I'd trust to make a decent Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy movie, because they just have the right sense of humour.

At the same time, I ****ing hate Seth Rogen.
 
this looks ****ing woeful and as much as i love the two i wasn't fussed about this at all, however, they appeared on top gear the other night and that showed that the chemistry between them was still top notch, so i'll watch it.
 
Looks ****ing terrible. Yeah, they're a good pair, but two enjoyable actors don't make a movie watchable. Bill Murray starred in the Garfield movies. Movie featuring a CGI alien played by Seth Rogen. Yeah, no.

i don't think anyone has said the film is watchable because of the two, more that they, and i, are going to give it a chance because of the two.

no sense in missing it out, it's only a film afterall.
 
I wont be watching this because I cannot stand Seth Rogan, though the duo are very funny. I've been meaning to watch Shaun of the Dead again.
 
Just so you guys know, it's written by Simon and Nick, not just 'featuring' them. The verdict I've heard from certain places is that it's genuinely funny in parts, but that it doesn't have the run-on gags and obsessive minutia that made Shaun or Fuzz so infinitely rewatchable. Still a little sceptic, but I'm not about to write it off because of a ****ing trailer. Comedy trailers tend to be awful, regardless of the final product's quality.
 
I didn't know what to think from the trailer, I love Pegg and Frost and I love Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz, but this just doesn't strike me as a film anywhere near the caliber of their last two projects together. Very much doubt I will see this in the cinema, likely catch up when it appears on DVD if the reviews warrant it.
 
i think the thing to be glad about here is that although this stars the duo we all love from shaun and fuzz, this isn't the third film in the blood and ice cream trilogy, aka the films helmed by edgar wright. that's still to come.

While I liked Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz did nothing for me. I have a fussy sense of humor though.

not finding simon pegg or nick frost funny is one thing, but when the film has the likes of timothy dalton, martin freeman, steve coogan, paddy considine, bill nighy, kevin eldon, bill bailey and jim broadbent, plus more (the entire cast? even stephen merchant is funny, all of ten seconds he's in it) all delivering funnies every time they are on screen, i mean... no, i don't believe you. you've swept upon this thread and it's fans to dampen our moods, salmon, but i simply do not believe you so get out.
 
I think it's just typical "Samon Hates The World(TM)."

I've seen Samon talking positively about lots of things.

If he says he doesn't like something that I like, I don't throw my toys out of the cot.

I agree, but only because he tends to be in better directed and more "down to earth" films with better directors attached. Jack Black will slap his name on any old bullshit. Then again, Seth is getting that way lately.
