I start college for the first time this June, and the only thing I'm worrying about now is how hard it will be to pay for it. I'm unable to receive any grants because all the financial aid forms say my parents make too much money, so our only form of aid is a student and parent loan, and any scholarships I'm lucky enough to win. So to anyone whos been through college, how did/are you paying for it?

college is expensive :(

I hope I get a good scholorship

pawn it off on your parents then

my dad said he'll pay for mine as long as I pass everything...otherwise i pay every cent back to him...so im not gunna fail! :D

We have a different system here in the UK, its much cheaper but we still need student loans etc to pay or way through.

I finish a 3 year course later this year, and i'll be about £10,000 in debt.

Oh well.

If you take a year out before starting college you can work and save upa few grand, that'll help, that's what I did.
Aside from that, if your parents are earning so much money, get them to throw some dollars your way, if they're really stingy and make you pay it back say you shall do when you're earning loadsa cash after your degree.

If all else fails become a whore.

There's no shame in suckin' a dick or two if it's for your education.

Well, a few years ago, Louisiana got all pissed off because all of our smart kids were leaving the state and never coming back. Sooooo, they created TOPS. TOPS pays for the college tuition of any student up to one year out of high school who scores high enough on the ACT and makes good enough grades. So that's how I'm doin' it.

ACT of 33 and a high school GPA of 3.1 (minimum for tops is 2.5). Yeah, I feel smart. Smart and lazy.

College is free in Sweden, and it should be the same in the US. I guess loans are your only way...

i'm a professional student and it seems like you have two choices, eather get a studet loan or ask your parents

if you get a job, it will only pay for a community college, but not a major university

ahh,
do you wanna be my official guide to halflife2.net forums?
you would have to follow me around and watch me do things and point out my mistakes. Ready for the Job?

We have a program called KEES that gives us a certain amount of money during the time were in college according to our GPA and ACT score. Still, it only makes a small dent in the roughly $40,000 ill have to pay. :(

GET. Guaranteed Education Tuition (its a WA thing). That with ROTC and work.
