Greetings all,

I am looking for & have seen other people looking for FPS games that have co-op game play. I'm not talking about online multi-player, I'm talking about co-op. As in more than one "human" player connects to another "human" players PC, most often over LAN, to help progress through the games campaign. As I said, I would prefer playing through the single player campaign itself & not just aimless killing on any given map, though I guess co-op could be called just that, "Aimless killing on any given map" :p

If you know of any games, please post them here. Remember, i'm looking for FPS co-op, not RPG or RTS. (Hope I have made that clear.)

A couple games that offer true Co-op as example:
1) Serious Sam Series
2) Gears of War

Thanks in advance.

AvP 1, but nobody really plays it anymore.

Doom 3 w/ Last Man Standing Mod

Half-Life 1 : Sven Coop

Half-Life 2 : Obsidian Conflict

Operation Flashpoint

Armed Assault

Unreal Tournament 2004

Star Wars Battlefront 1 + 2

That's all that I know of.

Er... Is there a demo for Gears of War for PC? I really would like to see how it plays on my PC (and buy it if it works).

Anything Tom Clancy really...

Vegas 1 / 2
GRAW 1 / 2
Splinter Cell

Oh, I thought the bolded letters spelled "prate" and I was like wut? The bold "i" is hard to see.

Pirate ??

Shhhh!! Thats a very dirty word. Never Pirate a game. Shame on you for even saying such a thing! No one here would EVER do such a thing, so please don't corrupt their innocent minds.

(Read. Between. The. Lines. :naughty:)

We are Playing through GRAW 2's co-op maps. While sadly Limited to only 4 maps, the maps themselves are big with multiple objectives per map. Also the AI is so far doing an excellent job of kicking my butt.

Verdict: - Very Fun

We are also currently playing Gears of War co-op for the PC & it's very well implemented I must admit. Very fluid & well executed.

Verdict - Fun

alehm Reccomended Co Op Play

System Shock 2 (with co-op patch)

Half Life 2 (Plus Episodes 1 and 2)

Other games for reference

Alien Shooter: Vengence - similar to serious sam. ridiculus amounts of aliens to kill per level

Blood 1 and 2 (abandonware now- can get it for free)

Doom
Doom II
Doom 3 Open Coop

Ghost Recon (Has Co-op missions and Terrorist Hunt)

Half Life (Sven Co-Op)

Hidden and Dangerous
Hidden and Dangerous 2: Sabre Squadron (MUST HAVE SABRE SQUAD EXPANSION TO BE COOP)

Mechwarrior 4 Vengence & Black Night
Mechwarrior 4 Merceneries

No One Lives Forever 2

Quake 4

Rainbow Six (Has Co-op missions and Terrorist Hunt)

Serious Sam
Serious Sam 2

Unreal

Unreal Tournament 2004: Alien Swarm - a total conversion for UT2004. Look here. Incredible top-down alien game that brings back thoughts of xenophobia and the movie Aliens. (game over man, game over!) One of the better quality mods that is worth the large download. Nothing quite like circling back-to-back w/ bullets flying all around you while the aliens swarm you... intense to no end.

Blood and Blood 2 are NOT abandonware.
Monolith made them and they're still alive and kicking.

Excellents lists everyone. So far, I have all the games listed & will be dusting a few off to take another look at them. Alien Shooter:Vengence didn't have a true co-op. More along the lines of a survival mode. A couple of maps where you only face wave after wave of bugs. No campaign play.

I remember playing the original Blood for what felt like forever. Loved it. Blood 2 didn't hold my attention that long. Better graphics, but more on the cartoonish side, even considering the limited tech of the time. Blood 1 just seemed more gritty & noire.

Ooooo.. Forgot about MechWarrior 4 :borg:

They removed co-op from the PC version for some retarded reason.

Also, no demo for Gears of War... but there are other ways you can try it.

I've got what you meant, I think. Consider your ubiqous statement noted and I thank you for that, Sir!

They may not be 'abandonware in the usual sense of the company and distributor going the way of the dodo. But regardless, you don't have to pay for these two because they are allowed to be downloaded for free. Check any abandonware website, they are there.

Unless you can find the games up for download on Monolith's website or either game's homepage... then I'd say it's still considered illegal.
But, I don't really care anyways... Blood 2 sucked dick and Blood was okay, great atmosphere.

If Blood's out there for free what about Shadow Warrior? Do you have any links? (I LOVED the old DN3D Engine... teenage memories)

Its abandon ware not the-developers-dead ware. Abandon ware is when a company stops producing, selling and supporting a game. It is considered that they won't make a fuss of people downloading it because they arn't making money from it anyway. Products from dead companies can still be considered abandon ware, its just not a requirement.

On legality, downloading copyright material is not a crime. You can walk into a police station and announce that you download games/movies etc and they won't (well shouldn't) arrest you. Its a civil issue, which means its up to the copyright holder to sue you. And yes, I am aware that I'm nitpicking slightly, but its not the same as illegal.
