PC Gamer Tries Left 4 Dead.

The Valve booth at the Showdown LAN, as you might know, displayed a group of computers loaded with Left 4 Dead. The team down at PC Gamer challenged the Turtle Rock / Valve crew to a game of L4D - The ensuing slaughter is part of the PC Gamer video podcast. The video itself shows off the gameplay of L4D as well as the frustration of the PC Gamer crew.[br]

Wow when I first glanced at this article I thought "4 left dead at PC Gamer??? What happened, was there a shooting?" Boy do I feel dumb .

Wow that was awesome total I liked that at first when their in the building there are little zombies and then when they move toward the streets total carnage I can't wait for this game.

It's funny how at first they have trouble working as a team just getting through a door. And to top it off they shoot at each other. While the turtle rock/valve guys are plotting their death. lol
But I think Norm was talking to spectators at the time and he was the one standing in the middle of the doorway.

The subway scene could have been their end if it went differently. Hunter was waiting by the Witch at first. He died but she took 2 down, 1 being dead, with one hit.

It does pop up listing kills in the top corner. They say who on your team got the kill and that he killed a hunter or infected, for example. But they don't list the name of who was playing the hunter. I wonder on the Infected side if it just says you killed "survivor" without the player name.

Yeah, that would have been real bad if the Hunter had waited.. I couldn't believe they just walked right over her like that, but they were in a really loud convention so it was probably hard to hear things.

I liked at 7:45 the river of blood coming out the back of the infected. I could watch that over and over again.

@4:31 is the beginning of the subway scene with the hunter and witch.
Hunter @ 4:54 and you can see the Witch @ 5:06 in the tracks as they completely over look her. lol
It says Hunter (in blue) and Witch (in white) at the top corner when they get killed. Another hunter at the end of the scene @ 5:15.

I'm confused if she kills both or just kills 1 with the other laying down. It only says the witch kills 1 from the text on the top right but the health bars of both players look red. And the icon above the right health bar looks like a witch icon. IDK

This looks like a killer TC, the part with the Tank cracked me up a treat. Can't wait to play as a Smoker, they look awesome

Looks pretty damn awesome. Maps are kinda blocky but I'm guessing they're also hella long so it's probably a fair compromise. I'm just loving how quickly you can be set upon by hordes of the things. And did you see the bit where the zombies were stamping on that guys head when he was down!? Hilarious!

Oh and btw can you change the news title to "PC Gamer Tries Left 4 Dead (video)" because I had no idea it was a podcast until I randomly checked the thread out of boredom. I thought it was just another magazine preview that was perhaps put online.

It isn't a mod. Up to 4 survivors and 4 infected. The infected that players can play look different than the NPC infected.
