PCGamer reviews the Orange Box

Only a good thing. Bioshock is well deserving of a 94 so this is going to be just as awesome, I imagine.

Wow well a 94 well deserved but I can't believe there's already a review this early.
This means spoilers will soon be out, be careful people.

The game hits stores in less than a month, of course there will be reviews :)

Thats an idea.... When alot of us have played Episode 2, we should open up a thread and rate it ourselves, be good fun I think, but we'd have to make it a spoiler thread.

Good Idea, Bad Idea?

94% **** YA! Should be getting the issue soon!

94, eh? Sounds like they liked it better than Episode 1.

Think they are rating the Orange Box overall, I would of thought that they reviewed and rated each game separately.

Still an awesome score though :)

german gaming magazine "PC Action" is giving EP2 85% (translated from another forum)

the Cons:

- a few frustrating moments
- only one new character
- G-Man still being mysterious
- deserted world

Sorry, not Pros yet...

Conclusion: "Short but really good. Not only for fans!"

So...does this mean that we don't find out that much about the G-man in ep2 or that we do but he still acts mysterious.
I think that they mean only one new main character, as there are a couple new supporting characters.

That also means Griggs and Sheckley are probably just normal citizens. :hmph:

Pretty sure the refugees in HL2 canals had names, too.

Still I say one new character is better than nothing if you consider that ep1 had none.

94% is pretty damn good. That satisfies me. OB will probably be getting lots of scores in the 90's, but I still wished they had reviewed each game separately.

I can't believe that they give ep2 the worst score in the orange box, well excluding half life 2 and ep1.
I'm not going to listen to these guys I think that ep2 is still great. Just wait until more reviews come out I bet you that those will give ep2 at least a 90%.

Yeah. It's really hard to believe in people's opinions. Liars I say! OFF WITH THEIR HEADS!

That's the hl2.net way. Also, 85% for an Episode is a very good score.

You haven't played it though. But I agree, I suspect it will be getting higher scores as time passes.

I preferred EP1 over HL2. I have a tendency to not complete long games such as Bioshock and HL2. :<

According to Steam, Ep. 1 got an average score of 86%, so we shouldn't feel too disappointed with 2's score.

G-man still being mysterious is a bit disappointing though...here I was thinking that Ep. 2 will finally shed some light on him.

What makes you think it won't? I mean, come on, "Still shady"; what do you expect? The whole damn thing revealed? It does not say their won't be anything discovered about him.

Ya I don't expect finding out everything about him but at least a little is good enough for me.
I just hope we will get to see G-man interacting with other npcs this time and I mean really hearing the conversation.

It's not surprising that Portal got the higher score. It's much more innovative compared to Episode 2, which is essentially repackaged HL2 gameplay with knobs on.

Apparently it has a better ending too.

I'm imaginging that if valve reveal any more about the gman it will be in ep3.

I just hope that they still answer some questions (they promised us that last time and it didn't happen :hmph: )

Well, if we're only going to get a few clues, then that's enough for me. We already know that we're getting a glimpse at his workplace...

What to they mean they could only play TF2 for 6 hours? It sounds like they reviewed it as part of full hands-on at Valve or something.
