Peggle + Rage = News

Never saw the Rage trailer until now, I was all like :D :D :D :D :D Oh... racing game........ :|

They should just give the 360 owners the scaled back version, and keep the original for the other platforms (though I'm sure that may create legal issues). It's kind of shitty that PC and PS3 owners have to suffer because of the 360's faults.

MS being greedy, id turns on them.

Remember when id blowing sunshine up MS ass? OH, the 360 is awesome, easy to program for, the development tools are so ace, etc.

Update: id's Tim Willits has informed Shacknews that the information contained within the 1UP article is "inaccurate," with a more detailed explanation to follow.

I thought this was going to be an article about someone who got enraged by Peggle and went out and killed someone.

Of course this is finally starting to happen. Games are getting bigger. PS2 games were filling up DVD9's years ago. That simple fact coupled with no guarantee of a hard drive = serious ****ing space constrictions.

It's probably already happened a lot that we don't know about. While games might not be "cut", they're definitely being designed with this strict limitation in mind. I bet GTAIV would've been a fairly different game had they had unlimited space to work with. This sucks for a multi-platform user whose PS3 and PC are not hamstrung by archaic tech, yet nevertheless suffer from it (though X-BOX owners were in the same place last gen).

And to top it off MS is punishing developers even more by making them pay an extra royalty for every DVD they ship the game with (in an attempt to overcome the consoles faults). If it were me I'd start making games full stop for PC and PS3 and then compressing the shit out of them for 360, resulting in slow-loading times and low res assets and textures. If a few high profile games get released that are significantly inferior to their counterparts MS would probably change their stance on multiple disc games fairly quickly.

There was NO CONTENT removed from RAGE because of the 360--NONE AT ALL. Moving from multiple wastelands into fewer but larger wastelands was a far better decision and is actually giving us more gameplay in the game.

Back in the Doom days, I remember ID saying that DirectX sucked very bad and that they would have never used it again. Only OpenGL. Well... ;)

Hmm I'm going to go with the PC release on rage anyway (come to think of it would Rage have securom?)

Shipping the HD less 360s for the sake of bigger intial high street sales is probably one of the most monumentally flawed decisions MS ever made (handing Sony the HD market being another), and one whose impact has compromised current game development considerably. :dozey:

Peggle is godlike. I've spent so many hours with brother playing that game. Not to mention all the arguing and discussion that inevitably followed.

I can't be only the one who thought Peggle would have a Rage mode from the thread title. >_<
