Per Board Bannings

I'd like it if the mods had the ability to ban certain people from certain boards.

Like, for instance, banning gh0st from the Politics board. He has a tendency to dwell too much on a single piece of supporting evidence in an argument, and thusly, derail the thread completely.

It shouldn't be too hard. Just create a group for every board, and make it so that group, they can view everything but that board.

For instance, the group "POLITICS" would allow everybody in it to view everything but politics.

it's a good idea - but sometimes the ban is to teach them a lesson... That when you stuff around you don't get to post at all...

I'd say it teaches them a better lesson when they can't post at all, it teaches people to be less of assholes/thread de-railers/sass-talkers.

That would be intresting. Althought it would encourage people to sign up purely for the off topic.

You do realize that most people begin posting in the HL2 sections since this is, indeed, an HL2 website.

Would be nice to see certain members banned from certain forums, I guess.

What winds me up is people with like 20 posts welcoming people in noobie central when they've been here 3 days. Post count boosting and the posts are annoying too. I could moan all day

except that they don't learn anything at all...instead, going and whining to Munro about being 'unjustly banned' is a trendy thing.

so um...as long as the staff here gets undermined, it doesn't matter whatever half decent idea anyone here comes up with...because whinning to Munro gets one a "get of jail" card, even if the ban is a permanent one.

SpicyLemonTunaKing is now gone for good, and most people who do whine to Munro and get unbanned are usually banned again the following week.
