I have been having problems lately with my PC. Even my oldest games are running really slowly. I wouldn't be so worried if the games didnt run before but they ran perfectly. now they just do not work. I tried defragging my hard drive but it did nothing to help and I have formatted my computer recently and removed all the crap that builds up but nothing. Whereas before i got steady 40-60 FPS i get about 3-5 now even when I turn all settings down. I recently upgraded my PC from 512Mb RAM to 1GB. I also upgraded my graphics card to a RADEON 9800 Pro 128mb (made by PEAK which I was a bit worried about). Im not 100% sure but I think the problems started when I had the upgrades. could moving from a GeForce 440Mx to a 9800 Pro really degrade my performance. If not then what is my problem?

i think so, is there more than one driver for the card?

Guess it is time to delete the partition and reinstall windows from scratch. Backup anything you want to keep. I think your system has had too much junk built up. Through the years it has most likely had too many programs installed and uninstalled so it just runs like garbage. That or you have too much spyware that runs in the background. In any case deleting the partition and reinstalling windows will fix this problem.

Could be a number of things, could try removing the ram you recently installed and seeing if it makes any difference. Completely delete your display drivers using Driver Cleaner and reinstall the latest from Ati.

viruses/spyware

going from nvidia card to ati card without running driver cleaner could be it too

is there a guide or sumthin for deleting the partition? and where do i get driver cleaner?
