ok, im planning on upgrading my computer to an amd xp 2800 (my mobo maxes out at 333), a gig of 333fsb memory (value), and a 6800gt(agp). Will this be able to play CS:S at 1680x1050 well?(widescreen res for a widescreen monitor)?
For comparison, im playing it now on an amdxp 2400(266), g4ti4200, and 768megs of pc2100, and its definitely playable. For cs:s should i worry about getting a better processor or a better gfx card?

PS, im assuming this is where this question would go, but if not ill move it.

You'd be able to play CS NOW, but you'd be essentially putting money into a pit.

You'd be much better off just building a new PC. Trieing to upgrade yours now would only bide you a few more months/a year or two, before you'd need to build a completely new one. No sense wasting your money, may as well cut out the middle man!

Oh and when you're ready to start getting your new rig together, there's a thread for this kinda stuff. Further down, the "Hardware and Software" board. You'll get a ton more help there!

Yea... might as well build another; that system you have now will have no upgradeability down the road (6/12 months).
