I have recently heard the new Manson cover of 'Personal Jesus' and well im unsure ...Wot do u guys think of it? All i can think is its nearly the same and doesn't have Mansons unique twist he usually demonstrates...eg. Sweet Dreams

But its certainly not the [SARCASM]best[/SARCASM] song hes ever done...But the vids pretty kick ass :P

Manson can't make music, it is all the same crap.

Manson = shit.

Just my two cents, sorry.

Though his theme song for Resident Evil was pretty cool.

hmm can't say I've heard it.. got any examples? (not complete rips, tis not allowed here) :)

I like alot of his songs, why right now im listening to "Beutifull people"

Oh I dunno, some were pretty good. I don't think he's as bad as people think....

*ducks from flames*

Neither do I, I think his three middle albums are all brilliant (Antichrist Superstar, Mechanical Animals and Holy Wood) but everything else sort of stinks a bit.

hehe, yeah i guess your right.. Some really good stuff, some pretty naff stuff. I should listen to more of his stuff, I don't listen to enough music these days.

Is this a Depeche Mode cover then? Because if it is, Manson should have his mouth stitched up.

Depeche Mode are not to be covered. They are too good for anybody else.

Manson is great. Simply great.
And yes, I liked Personal Jesus :)

Marilyn Manson hasn't done a decent thing since he and Trent split. I mean that in the serious way. His last two albums have been difficult to listen to.

Johnny Cash's personal Jesus is way better.. I can't believe they said Manson did a cover on Depeche Modes when Depeche Mode's Personal Jesus was a cover of Johnny Cash's one.

You've got the wrong order there. Depeche Mode's "Personnel Jesus" was released ages ago (1990). Johnny Cash recently covered it (on the last album, the one full of covers, he released before he died).

Oh, okay! :D

damn I thought this thread was about Manson turning to jesus or something like that :E

manson and depeche mode just doesnt mix well

look at trent reznors cover of Joy Division's Dead Souls from the Crow soundtrack, that's a song that suited Reznor's musical style

It's true that Marilyn Manson was best with Trent, back on Antichrist Superstar. He held up pretty well for the next two albums, but Golden Age Of Grotesque just wasn't enough. He was just trying too hard, what with the whole Nazi look and overly sloganised lyrics.

Oh well, I hope Bleedthrough will be good. If it ever gets finished. /me slaps Reznor

Grr, I need to listen to more NIN.

Heard it like three times, didn't realise it was a new song until I saw the video just now, they announced it beforehand. Lost interest in the video pretty quick, peeked back over at the TV later into it and there were some scantily clad women swinging around on ropes and candles and bondage and shit. Seriously, quit trying to turn sex appeal into an art form. This shit makes Marilyn look like the ****ing conformist.

I liked tainted love (which I'm pretty sure has the exact same video but with more jocks getting pushed around lol they suck oh and gothic hottub secks 2) until I heard the original.

Tainted Love was good for two minutes.

Yes, I realise the song is more than four minutes long.

agreed fully :)
now i know Trent and company aren't great at getting things done sooner but i feel NiN hasn't released a bad album yet and if it means waiting more than i can do that :)

TBH, i really want to see NiN in a concert more than anything right now because when i saw them live in April of 1999 afterwards i felt it was the best concert i've ever been to

I only got into NIN about a year and a half ago, and since obtaining the "And All That Could Have Been" Live DVD, I've been itching to go to a NIN concert ever since. :)

It was the exact same when he covered Tainted Love. Too many people said that it was by Softcell, when actually it was originally a '70s soul record by Gloria Jones. And that was by far the best version.

<Grumbles> ...excellent '70s soul records not getting the credit they deserve... bloody Softcell... bloody Marilyn Manson... bloody MTV... <Grumbles>

Teehee, I think it may be longer than that. Maybe. :P Probably two and a half...hehe. I just find it sligtly annoying that Trent doesn't really say anything, ever. At least most other bands tend to have something to say, but there hasn't been any real new material since the "Still" bonus disc, and Trent doesn't really talk too much.

In fact, it might be more than two years, because I remember buying And All That Could Have Been on CD the day it came out. :P

That song will remain in memory never be forgotten. :D

I don't like him at all. IMO he sucks. I like trance/rock/british rock more.

yup, they patched it up a while back. Manson directed the video for Star****ers, inc. (ironically enough) and they both performed together at Madison Square Garden at the end of a NIN concert. It's an easter egg somewhere in the DVD.

As for Manson's better songs..

1996
Tourniquet
Little Horn
Antichrist Superstar
GodEatGod
King Kill
Count to Six And Die
Great Big White World
The Speed of Pain
I Don't Like The Drugs (but The Drugs Like Me)
Coma White

Pick 'n' Mix really. :)
