I just tried pesto sauce for the first time today. Basil, garlic, olive oil, some hard cheese, probably pecorino or something, and pine nuts. It was just Sam's Club brand.

One of the most ****ing delicious things I've ever had to accompany sandwiches!

I don't think I can ever go back to mayonnaise or mustard again. Mustard maybe, since I still love mustard. But mayonnaise? Mayonnaise is dead to me. ****ing eggs and oil... PFFT! Has more calories and doesn't have a delicious taste!

I wonder how many other simple things out there I haven't tried that would elicit such a positive reaction in me.

I love Pesto. It beats butter and mayonnaise anyday.

Hell yes. So much intense flavor. I wonder where it all comes from. I imagine a bunch comes from the cheese. But I guess it's just the combination of all the things that makes it taste so amazing.

Never had it in a sandwich either. Must investigate further. Also, must put it on pasta more.

I don't ever really put pesto on sandwiches, but with pasta it's delicious!

I had it on some french bread with gouda cheese and some high quality turkey deli slices(the kind that you can actually feel the texture in... not that smooth and gross kind). Really simple, but the pesto made it shine.

It just tasted amazing. To me it seems like a fantastic sandwich spread as it lends a rich flavor, and I was able to taste the other ingredients too. But if you overdo it, I can see how it'd be too overpowering.

Looks like diarrhea guacamole. With the flu.

The human ability to perceive foods as gross looking is our natural defense against eating things that are bad for us.

Stop defying nature!

I don't like putting sauces or spreads on my sandwiches, but I do put pesto on my garlic bread. :)

Well... I first spread some on toast and had it that way... and it tasted so good I had to make a sandwich. And it was fabulous.

To me, it seems nuts NOT to use it on a sandwich! It's not like spaghetti sauce or something!

Yeah man, I love pesto too. I've had it on toast before, but I subsist on pesto pasta when I am at camp.

Agreed, 1st time i had pesto was in a Starbucks sandwich, got addicted to that shit until they stop caring it.

Pesto sandwiches sound absolutely insane, it's meant to be a pasta sauce!? If you don't feel like creamy or tomato based, the alternative is olive oil based. Pesto is so damn tasty, I'm glad your first taste of it was with pine nuts...they were made to go together!

Never had it in a sandwich before.

But with pasta it's delicious.

French bread, mozarella, tomatoes and some pesto. Heaven on a sandwich.

Pesto is goddamn awesome.

If you liked normal pesto, try red pesto. It's like normal presto with sun-dried tomato.

I usaly butterfly a chicken breast, bung that under the grill, and just befor its ready bung on a load of pesto and back in the oven for another 5 mins. Really tasty with some rice or what ever.

Ah Shakermaker, you beat me to it.
Also, spaghetti, pesto and parmesan cheese is ****ing delicious.

Go Pesto!

I make my own with fresh basil (torn), olive oil from a local press, sea salt, a bit of pepper, and pine nuts fried lightly in a lighter olive oil. Usually with a mortar and pestle plus maybe a bit of this.

**** a ball wank bin? First words to come to mind.
I think I might've had this at an italian restaurant. Though might've just been olive oil :p
Sounds like the thing for a baguette or pasta though.
