As far as music goes, what's your all-time pet peeve?

Mine is when a song just fades away into nothing in the end, in lieu of having an actual ending. When a song ends, it should leave you with a sense of finalization, completion, satisfaction if you will. But when a song fades out, it leaves you hanging, as if it's a cliffhanger to a sequel song. And to me, it's a sign that the artist's creativity took a hit about two-thirds of the way through, and he/she/they just tacked on a fade because they couldn't think of anything better to use.

It's fairly widespread, and probably plays a part in my utter distaste for mainstream rap and hip-hop.

when their solos are 2 notes played w/ occasional bending or sliding.
cept tom morello, hes a guitar genious :D

When all of a bands songs sound the exact same. Like Relient K.

Those lyrics that are just "wooooahaaaahhhoooooooaaaahoooooo nya nya nya blah blah" etc

Also, when a rapper does a "cover" of a song that basically involves him talking stupid crap over the top of a song, with no particular rythym or coherent speech, completely ruining the original music.

crap lyrics and solos that just dont fit...Honestly, i dont care how fast the solo is but if it doesnt 'fit' then its definately not good solo in my opinion

Key changes...cheap way of upping the ante in a song without bothering to think of a new riff.

I know I cringe whenever I hear that synthesizer voice effect you always get on euro-dance-garbage and r&b tracks when the guy singing hits a high note. I can't think of a better way to explain it, but I absolutely cannot fcuking stand that effect.

People doing remixes of Doors songs **cough** SNOOP DOGG **cough**

When people slag off certain genres of music that they've never really heard before, and resort to using phrases they've heard from friends to describe why and how much they hate it.

People with no time for different music... that's my pet peev.

I hate when they add reverb to the end of a sentence ...hmmm cant think of any examples off-hand except for a Tiffany song (80's teen music)

"holding each others hand ..hand hand hand"

I hate it when an artist re-releases old material that is re-recorded or remastered, or just plain copied (compilations aside)

You know something's wrong when you can't come up with enough new material to fill up a CD

I also hate it when good bands do shitty covers, and when a band has more than one cover on a CD that is not meant as a tribute

Songs with really awesome intros, but no good lyrics or music afterwards...only thing I can think of...

LOL snoop dogg did a cover on the doors? wtf, how does that work.

Snobby pop and punk-rock groups or artists trying to act rebellious.
It's been done so many times. Black Eyed Peas have a song called "Shut up" and so does Simple Plan and Kelly Osbourne.

He took the original song, took out everything except the guitar and chorus, and raped the best song off 'L.A Woman'

Rappers sampling other songs in their "music" because they can't make good music without it (Vanilla Ice - Ice Ice Baby, Eminem - Stan, Toy Soldiers etc, Tupac - Changes). Take the chorus away from most rap and it's just horrible.

Dance music sampling other people's songs in their music (recent one in UK charts right now - "Sunset Strippers - Falling Stars")
