I think all of us here should gather up, all write letters, and bundle them all to send to the anti-video game company that is featured in the "Ban These Evil Games" article.

It's absolutely ridiculous and I can't even bear to watch it happen.

What do you think?

I'm certainly sending a letter anyway

me and my homies are right behind you. i got mic 1 here and a backup just in case, and they don't like no feedback.

seriously though.. it is quite ridiculous.

Im with you. Its about time there is someone who will stand up 2 these stupid people who know nothing about the gaming world. Post your letter if you do one. I would like 2 see what you write. I woud write a letter if I knew where 2 send it.

I'm going to find out where to send it sometimes tomorrow probably, aswell as write the letter tomorrow aswell.

If we all send letters we can maybe get these people to have a nice debate with us.

you should make the point on this thread about him being under the rating age and the mom and stuff. and about killer's mom trying to save face and the like.

If you do send a letter, please double and triple check your grammar and spelling.
I remember seeing a thread similar to this, but regarding an editorial on why to ban video games at a news site. Someone decided to "represent the gaming community" and send him an e-mail. The person that sent the e-mail misrepresented gamers so badly because his spelling and grammar were absolute crap. And his points were a bit moot.. so please, for the love of games/ers everywhere.. use the English language in the most eloquent way possible!

Thank you, have a nice day.

Ah, you must have no faith in Mr. White :hmph:

I'm a grammar Nazi, and plan to head to college as an english major. Ask edmo.

No 1337 speak for me.

I wasn't referring to any one person, but it's good to know you too are in the grammar nazi club :)

Ah yes, there aren't enough of us anymore... I swear.

Just be cautious... they may just go and sell your e-mail addy to the spammers...or spam you with anti video game newsletters.

Yeah send letters in, he'll sort them out :D

Nah seriously, it wont make a difference to them. you wont change there mind...

Oh quite obviously... but it'l make me feel better. I just get so frustrated with such stupidity.

He wont change their mind but if others send letters aswell it will be more effective.

Once they make up their mind, they won't stop.
Sending a letter won't help ......

Good Luck though ...... :)

sighh... well no wonder all the old people think games are corrupting the youth, the gamers themselves won't even stand up for what they do. and now here we have someone standing up to disgruntled soccer moms and all you can say is 'sending a letter won't help'... splendid.

come on, guys, take a break from jizzing over doom III and half-life2 and defend the games you love to play. i mean, if the 'game ban' petition passes, the games you love to play won't be worth posting at a forum for.

all you can say is 'sending a letter won't help'

And it won't. It will (probably) be like sending a letter to Microsoft asking for technical support. All you'll get is "Hi, I'm ..... , thank you for sending this letter. Please feel free to send to contact us at ...... .Thank you" response.

However ,I believe there was idea of a "pro-gaming" site where people could go to, to post/argue with anti-gamers about how games aren't harmful, and aren't as bad as parents think. There was talk of how the main articles would be about new games, and would allow discussion about what rating it has/ should have, and also people could try and counter the no-bias - "scientific" - studys, and so on.

Unfortunatly, that idea died because no-one could be bothered to make the site. Just shows that even good ideas can't get off the ground ...... :(

hehe yes yes, and nice example with microsoft. but, my point is that.. though the each letter won't make a difference.. no matter how you word it and the like, hundreds of letters will make a difference. the point is to be heard, to let them know your side of the story. and yeah, one letter isn't going to do it, and your specific letter out of a million won't be of much importance content-wise, except for the fact that it helped to make that million.

that website was a good idea, but it failed for whatever reasons, so let's start small, get a small gathering, and let it build. a letter here and there will turn into a few, a few will turn into a lot, a site might get started, one of us might get elected president, shit can happen. the least we can do is try .
