I finally got the Phantoms DVD I read the book twice not too long ago and saw the movie when it first came out and thought it rocked, I just watched it last night for the first time in ages. Any one else seen it? Book/movie rock and dean koontz is teh pwn

To give you a lil preview, a young female doctor comes home with her little sister played by rose mcgowan to her small town named snow field, the only thing is that almost everyone is missing and those who they find are dead and look very strange. It expands into "the ancient enemy" who is responsible for causing mass disappearances of people i.e - the myan race. There's guns, freaky shit, and other cool stuff. The movie has ben affleck, rose mcgowan, and some other guy I can't remember, it's pretty good

Is it even worth watching if Ben Affleck is in the movie?

Phantoms starts off good but quickly goes down hill when you find out the "Ancient Enemy" is really just a giant string of snot.

for those who havent seen it, it really isn't snot its just some crazy black stuff.
The book is way better than the movie.

Actually I love that film. Probably because it was one of those films I'd never heard of but just picked up at the video store for no apparent reason. As someone who reads too many magazines and visits too many movie sites, it's nice to have a film come out of nowhere to surpise you like that.

And while it is a shame about the ending... it could have been a LOT worse. It should probably even be commended for trying something different... ok for trying to tie in several different films (haunted house becomes aliens becomes Thing becomes big giant smog snot).
