I think, and this is coming out of nowhere that this will be a good reboot to the series ..come on Simon Pegg as scotty ..that alone has me sold

What I do remember about Captain James T. Kirk was that he had his shirt off in every episode that I saw.

Set looks stupid and the cast look like they were on their way to film an episode of OC County or some stupid cali-shit like that and got stuck in the middle of a bad kids sci-fi.

They should've made Karl Urban play Kirk. He looks closer to the right age.

Shatner was 35 or so when he became Kirk? This new guy is 28... No one would give him any respect as the captain of a starship, especially with that hairdo.
 
Wow, the new info sounds so great.

I only JUST got into Star Trek but I'm already fascinated by the lore, so maybe that's why none of the younger looking guys or anything really bother me.
I just hope they keep the signature techno-babble in the movie too. :p

From Star Trek - The Motion Picture right through to Generations, the technology and original characters evolved from the 60's series quite 'realistically', now that's all gone in the toilet to be shatnered upon. I'm so sick of movie remixes for the sake of it.

If Karl Urban is the oldest character McCoy, then the rest of the crew must be prepubescent. Jebus. Dawsons Creek in space. Americans should be banned from making more sci-fi, at least until some of their actors have grown out of huggies.
 
Honestly, Hollywood should realize that there are some things you just cant remake, its been made once in one perfect way and can never be re-approached, at least by the imagination (or lack thereof) in that particular movie making industry.


Star Trek TOS is one of them (even if I don't watch it because its mostly boring).
 
Oh just give the damn movie a chance, it's by the guy who did Lost.

Personally, I don't care much for Abrams, and his involvement in Lost has been nothing compared to the brilliance of Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse. Really annoying when Abrams receives credit he does not deserve. Anyway, as it happens, Lindelof does have a hand in it.

Could be good.
 
I hope they have a couple of "red shirts" on away missions that get "sacrificed"
