Hey I was just wondering if anyone has any good tips to reduced the file size when saving an image... the one I'm working on right now, the TGA, then converted to VTF with the VTEX, is 342kb.

I'm working with a 512x512 image just to see for myself wether or not it's possible. The current fle size is 342kb. It has a total of three layers. The top layer is a conjunction of the first and second, and the other two layers are not Visable. The image has one Alpha Channel. I'm saving it in as a TGA with 32bit Resolution.

I'm just looking for tips to reduce the size of the image... such as degrading image quality and the like...I appreciate any help.

Use imageready rather than photoshop for reducing image sizes. it's alot better.

but is it possible to save as a TGA with an alpha layer. To make a transparent spray that is... with ImageReady?

Not sure about photoshop, but in PSP you can File > Export. There may be a TGA optimizer, or something like that, where you can change quality and size.

in photoshop you go to iin the top menu go to image and image size and you can scale down the image size by typeing in the amount pixels you want
