They say the source is like real physics. So can you spill a barrell, a bucket, or even a cup full of water? Can you make the ground shake and watch the building fall apart? Uhuh, think about that one my friends.

-edit-

There is only a whole forums worth of info on this, and its been discussed that it is near impossible to compute water dynamics and render it in real time.

There isn't any fluid simulation in the Source engine. That kind of technology is far off. HL2 will have the most realistic physics in any game ever made, but it will only apply to select objects. Most objects in HL2 will be physically simulated though. Everything requires a certain amount of force to be physically affected. For example, the only way you will be able to move those giant crates made of metal is by using the crane. Other than that, the physics are as complex as you want them to be.

we will all live in little bubbles and be forced to play "The Matrix"

I'm reading back on your previous threads Smawg. Are you just trying to post the most pointless things possible? Cause it sure seems like it.

It's not as far off as you may think.

He seems to be trying hard to get there.

They are developing a new processor, it's around 10 ... eh, 100 Gigaherz I beleive it was. It's 10 theraherz, isn't it? Anyway, I believe it was something like that. They're strong at delopment with it and it'll be about in some 10 years, it's estimated. That means, in 30 years, if the government/rule of your country allows it, you'll be able to put on your VR-goggles, your gloves and your shoes, and be able to step in to an ultra reality fantasy, with everything included. I'm looking forward to being able to run around and shoot, and try to survive and stuff. And everyone's doing the same thing, running around blasting.

Or, just blasting ordinary ppl, or something... walking around with an RPG just outside of my house. Oh well, we're not *that* far off, anymore.

Despite a couple of noble attempts to keep this thread on-topic, it's veered off into the wilderness.

*aims the thread closing gun
